No Bra?
My Dr. told me not to wear a bra or even a sports bra for the first 6 wks after surgery so that my breasts will drop correctly. But I've always heard and read that you are supposed to wear a sports bra. I don't want my breasts to be saggy! I want them to look mostly natural but still be perky and firm. Has anyone else been told this?

Re: No Bra?
Hmmm, no. My doc seemed to be pretty liberal and thinks along those lines but I still had to wear the dreaded monster for 2 weeks!!!! And, even now, I still wear it when I get home and at night. It just feels better than going totally braless for too long a period. I remember in the early weeks it drove me nuts, probably because everything was so tight, but now I come home and change out of a regular bra into the sports bra (I'm sure that's way more than you needed).

Re: No Bra?
It's not at all unusual to be told to go braless post-op hunni.
Lots of us will get differing advice in regard to our recovery from the different surgeons we use.
Take no notice of what anyone else is doing in regard to their recovery hunni, it just gets so confusing if you do, you listen to YOUR surgeon and follow the advice you paid for hun to get the best from YOUR recovery. xx

It actually depends on the surgeons preference babe. there are many women with overs who are advised not to wear a bra post-op to encourage the breast to drop. there are also many women with unders who are under strict instruction to wear a bra 24/7 for as long as 3 months. xxx
Re: No Bra?
I know all surgeons are different, the hospital I went to the opinions range from 2 weeks to 2 months. Mine has told me 6 weeks day and night

Re: No Bra?
my surgeon didnt say much about bras actually. When i first had it done i was taped up and he said a bra wasnt necessary while i had the tapes on as the tape offered some support (I wore one anyway for comfort)
He also said at my 10 day appointment that i should go without a bra for a week if i was comfortable, to help them drop. I didnt though as it wasnt comfortable for me. He did say that i should be careful that the bra i wore shouldnt lift my breasts too much
