Im back from my check up girls!
Hi girls.
So I went to my check up yesterday for my open incisions and all is going to be ok!!! Most terrible experience though and soooo many tears. I brought my mom and dad and they sure let him have a peice of thier mind. He apologized more then we could count and then started to being to "offer" what he can do! This is where I drew the line. I said I don't want you to tell me what you "can" do I want you to tell me what you "are" going to do to fix this...TODAY! He decided re-stitching would be the best solution as there is no infection OR seroma he said the yellowish/bloody fluid on the gauze is granulation tissue. So this is where it sucks. They had to use a dentist needle to freeze both armpits (one that takes like 3 minutes in you!) He went through the incisions too wanted to puke! Then he scraped out the tissue around that was dead...and some of the granulation and restitched one side (2 stitches there) which isn't much. Then on the right he tried to codarize it as it was a very small opening...OMG felt this! They burn your skin! I could see and smell smoke and felt it! He immediately stopped and tried to refreeze it but it just wouldnt so I had to suck it up and get it stitched while feeling it! OMG worst ever. The right side only needed 1 stitch as it was almost fully closed. Thank goodness.
I already have more movement I got down my OWN plate today for breakfast teehee. He used dissolvable stitches again as he suggested these since the other ones could have my skin grow over them. He put in ones that will take a bit longer to dissolve so my top skin layers have time to fuse, which they didn't before. He also told me I can stop the antibiotics but I decided to finish them...just to be safe! It's only one more week. :wavey:
I really hope this works! I am so scared to move my arms but he assured me there is no worry as the stitches wont tear. :teehee: He definately got a taste of how I felt. I told him I was soo alone and how I had to see naturopaths, ER, and my family doc more than once. He was so apologetic and took my parents aside to speak to them about how it was unacceptable and will NOT happen again.
I also now get free lazer hair removal in my armpits as long as I wish he said this will also help with my scars healing (visually) as I won't get any ingrown hairs or anything. So that is a positive and I start that next week! Excited.
I am so happy today. He also said they are dropping great. Which I have noticed too. I don't need to take anymore muscle relaxers to help which I have been. It is such a relief that they are closed and hairless! Haha.
So thank you all for your support. I will definately keep you all posted on how my new recovery is hehe. Much more positive now that he is back and once again seeing me weekly till we are both comfortable. I am glad I didn't send him the nasty letter I had all set as I would be with no one. Thanks cookie for the advice on that one!

Re: Im back from my check up girls!
cookie! You scare me when you say you hope that's the worst of it! Do you not agree with what is happening or do you think this won't work now?
Thanks.

Re: Im back from my check up girls!
Oh hunni, I really didn't mean to scare you!!! I'm so, so sorry if I did!
It's just the way I talk hun, no hidden meaning behind my comment - As with all complications until they are fully healed it's just a matter of taking things a day at a time and staying positive.
Chin up Liz! You WILL get better!

Re: Im back from my check up girls!
Oh thank you for asking. I am so good! I am almost able to fully put my hands in the air! Incisions look well and still closed thank goodness. Feeling so much better mentally as well. I can also now reach the fax machine at work I wore a bra today too since I can now stretch my arms to put it on without any pain. Hope thats ok since my righty is still high my new shirt I wanted to wear today needed a bra or I would be smacking people with nipples.
Thanks so much for asking. I will keep updating too.
