GP Appointed on Thursday....

HI ALL,

My name is Vicki, im 22 years old
im going to see my doctor on Thursday as i have been left with a very low self esteem because i have very little breast tissue, my worries all started when i was around 14 years old and i realised i wasn't developing like all my peers, i thought i was a late developer but today at 22 i hardly have any breast tissue and it effects my confidence on a daily basis, i.e i cant wear strappy tops as i feel people are staring at my small breasts, afraid to go swimming etc, i did once try chicken fillets which ended in disaster which im sure you can all guess what happened, rather embarrassing.

So i feel the only option i am left with is a breast enlargement which i what i have wanted for years but never been able to afford it, i do work full time but have a house to run. i dont want huge boobs or anything i want to feel in proportion with my body and have a rounded shape so i can feel feminine and wear the nice clothes so i am hoping my doctor refers me to a surgeon and i get the go ahead as i cant live like this, it is driving my mad, some days i burst into tears at the thought of getting undressed in front of my partner who i have been with for over 5 years, he says he likes me as i am which he would say of course but it isnt about what he wants its about how i feel.
I have everything crossed that my doctor is understanding and is aware of how much this effects me .......................

Ahh, I hope your appointment goes well! Having small boobs is horrible most of the time! Everyone here is so understanding too, and really supportive! Let us know how it goes! I hope the process doesn't take too long for you.xx

Hii thanks for the welcome, im a little apprehensive whether or not my doctor is going to take me seriously and actually refer me, i hope so as i really feel this is the only option available, do you know how long it takes roughly from the referral to getting a date? xx.

We all worry about what our GP will say but you need to remember if one GP says no another might say yes so dont give up right away. My husband tell me he loves me how i am and it doesnt bother him, but like you said this isnt for our partners but for US. It took me a long time and alot of heartache but i got there in the end, hopefully you will to xx

Morning, thanks for the reply, i will let you all know what my doctor says, im hoping it wont take years but im not sure how the funding is in the North East, i did go to my doctors about this about 2 years ago in which a lady doctor without even looking at me told me it was definatley a no which i dont think is right, she wasnt interested at all, so im going to see another doctor this Thursday and hopefully start the ball rolling :dunno:

The GP needs to look at you and see how bad it is.
I do think the whole funding thing is wrong in england. it really is a massive postcode lottery. Hope it all goes well xx

Do you know if they will take me serious as i do have breast tissue but not much and i have read that someone got rejected because they have 'some' breast tissue? xx

Hi hun, I totally understand how you feel and could have written what you did word for word. I too wanted a BA since I was very young. Unfortunatly no Dr would refer me just said I wouldn't get the funding. I hope your Dr will listen hun.

omg that is awful did u have very little breast tissue? and in the end did you get it done privately? i wish i could go private but just couldn't save that much up im a million years : (

I had a little breast tissue but I did have to pay privately. I didn't save though, everytime i tried to something would come up. I tried for 2 years to save and in the end put it on a credit card and pay it off that way. I did also look into the finance offered by some companies which isn't too bad, about £100 a month

i wish i could afford to get it done privately, i do work full time but have bills to pay and by the end of the month i am left with little, i am going to explain to the doctor how i feel and come this thursday i should have a better knowledge of what is going to happen, i am hoping i get referred, iv got everything crossed thanks for sharing your story xx

welcome hun. i too had very little breast tissue, my doctor was also not interested, saying look lots of girls would love to be you weight!! who arent. i shouldve gave him a piece of my mind but i didnt.

i hope your doctor listens, you really gotta go in there and show them how sad its making you feel. if that fails just start putting all your spare change in a piggy bank, if you want it so bad, you ll be able to scarifice some things, all the best hun xx

hey im sorry to hear your doctor wouldnt listen, i just think it depends on which doctor you see and where you live etc, im just going to tell the truth and what happens will happen, even if i have to wait up to a year i wouldnt mind as i know by the end of it i will have breasts and feel feminine, i am such a girly girl and would love to be able to wear a bikini and feel confident and not feel insecure, thanks for all your comments it has really helped me in knowing what to expect x

It went quite well I think... I said that I'm slightly unsure as i'm afraid to have an op so he has given me a couple of weeks to decide and then he will refer me. xx

that is really positive that he is going to refer you, ill let you know tomorrow x
