Re: Any one else...?
Ouch! There's NO way I could have worn an underwire bra so soon. It still hurts me now to wear one 3 months later.
I'm astounded at the different things surgeons tell their patients. We all have the same op but are often told entirely different things!!?
Personally I'd go and get a sports bra and ditch the underwire idea. Surely it won't do you damage but maybe run it past your PS first?

Re: Any one else...?
Surgeons do very often offer differing advice to others babe, so you should listen you YOUR surgeon and the advice given to YOU, afterall you did pay for that advice!
I wouldn't buy too many bras though babe as you have so many changes to your breasts ahead and will probably find you change size over the next few weeks. xxx

Re: Any one else...?
I have heard of this a few times hun. Some surgeons advice no bra, some advise a sports bra and some advise underwired. It's not very common but surgeons all have their reasons for the advise they give. As cookie said you must follow your surgeons instructions and no one elses

Re: Any one else...?
Every surgeon is different, I have heard of some girls being told to wear an underwired bra after a few weeks before so I think its just what some surgeons like you to do. Not sure why but its always best to listern to your PS. xx

I was not allowed to wear any bra at all for 4 weeks. That was so annoying as that was really hard to hide under clothes. Had to wear 4 layers and you would still see the nipples peeking through lol

Re: Any one else...?
All surgeons say different things, i was allowed underwired after 6 weeks but wasnt ready to then as they still felt too new. I would peronally wait until you feel comfortable, 7 days sounds too early and there is nothing beneficial about wearing an underwired really, non-wired sports bras give support too x
Re: Any one else...?
Hmm thats really weird the only thing he said is that i have to get a particular type of under wired bra the wires go right up each side of the cup. He said something about moulding the implant so they arnt under my armpits as much. Im not in pain wearing it at the moment i feel comfy cos iv not been in a bra at all so far, i feel weird being the only person given this advice but ill stick to it if its what he says was just wondering if there was ANY one else the same as me xx
And thank you sophie :D xxx

Re: Any one else...?
There is no proof that would help that, only making internal pockets smaller or not so under your armpits, or choosing a narrower implant would help that. I think Em_stevo was told to wear a wonderbra right after her op, try a search for her posts hun xlittlewisher wrote:Hmm thats really weird the only thing he said is that i have to get a particular type of under wired bra the wires go right up each side of the cup. Re: Any one else...?
Sometimes surgeons suggest an underwire bra to help you get cleavage as they'll be quite far apart.
At the end of the day, the terms of your aftercare will probably be based on the fact that you'll need to have followed all your surgeons advice.
If you try the bra and it causes any kind of discomfort then get a non wired support bra. M&S do them and they're really reasonably priced.
