Who did you tell?
Just wondering who you told before going for your BA? and what were there reactions? I have told my folks and best friend, and a couple of the girls at work. I'm sure it'll be obvious when I turn up with my new additions, but don't really want to go broadcasting it around the office before my big day. I think partly because I know there'll be horror stories and I really don't want to know! In my opinion there's risk involved with anything in life! And this isn't a spur of the moment decision that I've made lightly. I've been reading and planning for over a year now...
My mum was actually a bit upset when I told her, but once I explained my reasons and showed her my sad boobies she totally understood and is behind me 100% The girls at work thought I was joking at first, but have been quite supportive and interested in the whole thing.

Re: Who did you tell?
I told everyone I knew, most were very supportive, there were some people who didn't understand and thought I would look like Jordan. Only had good reactions after my BA
Re: Who did you tell?
I told basically told all family and friends but no one at work knows. It's been very easy to keep it a secret from work.xxx

Re: Who did you tell?
1st time round I told my whole office but none of my close friends?! I obviously told my boyfriend and told my parents a few days before. They had a similar reaction to your mum, but when I explained I was just a nipple and very depressed about my ironing board chest they were really supportive and my dad actually took me to the hospital.
This time I've told a few more close friends, some who were shocked to find out I already had my boobs done(I've only just told my best friend who was so shocked to find out I already had implants - she just thought I wore good bras lol), my parents, fiancee, I haven't told any work colleagues this time!!! I've changed jobs since 1st ba and I don't think any of them would be supportive or understand so I've not mentioned it.

Re: Who did you tell?
I'm wondering the same thing ... at the moment only hubby and two best friends know. I'm almost dreading telling my mum just hope she will understand why. Guess it's hard for them as we're their "babies"! Other than that wasn't going to tell anyone else am hoping it won't be that obvious as I'll be going into the wintertime and by the time next Spring/Summer comes around and I'm back in summer clothes everyone will just think they always looked like that!!

Re: Who did you tell?
Mindyt - my mum did actually say something like that. I'm an only child and she still sees me as 'her baby' - even though I'll be 30 next year! lol. She's fine now tho, although she's not keen for me to tell any of the family!?!... I think in a way she's a bit embarassed about the whole thing... maybe she'll feel differently once she sees the end result.

Re: Who did you tell?
I've only told my OH, future-mother-in-law and my mum. My mum was a bit weary of it, I think she's thinks I'm gonna come away with Jordan boobs! but she's always known I was unhappy with my boobs so she'll get used to it. I was soo nervous about telling her though, but she thinks I'm going through a phase and that I'll change my mind.
My boyfriend knows that I'm really self conscious now about my boobs, he just wants to see me more confident with my boobs, so he's supporting me, plus it's not a shock because I've talked to him about it since I first seriously started thinking about it (about a year ago), and my Mother in law is fine, she thinks "well why not, you're only young once" that type of thing, so I guess I'm happy with their reactions. At the end of the day, it's a completely personal choice with who you tell, and whoever you do tell should respect that you've thought long and hard about it, and that it will make you happier :) xx ps sorry about the essay lol x

Re: Who did you tell?
Minxie am hoping my mum will be the same although i'm 6 years older than you! And totally agree with the whole "embarrassment" thing am quite sure she won't tell anyone! Am actually relying on her being supportive as will need her to help me out after the BA. Friends will take and collect the children from school but am hoping she'll come over to give me a hand with them! Don't think I'll be telling my dad ... goodness knows what he would say and as for the in-laws will leave that to the hubby. Not sure my mum-in-law will approve and dad-in-law will probably think their brilliant!! . Will let you know how I get on when I finally get round to telling mum ... am still waiting for the "right moment" x

Re: Who did you tell?
have told soooo many people. everyone really happy for me, cos they know how much i hate my flat chest. all the people i work with are men, and they are literally counting down the days to my BA. bless them! lol.
had no negative comments at all really. mum was a bit surprised at first, but now she has come around to the idea.

Re: Who did you tell?
I told my fiancé (well, it would have been impossible not to!), my Mum, brother and sister and three friends. Had it all booked before I told family though, as I didn't want them trying to put me off!!
My main reason for not telling others is that I didn't want their opinion or advice on it. I'd done my own research over years and knew what I was doing and why. I didn't want people who didn't know what they were talking about having an opinion on what I should do with my body.
I certainly didn't feel too embarrassed or ashamed to tell anyone, and I'll happily tell anyone now if they ask!

Re: Who did you tell?
I told everyone, I was so excited that I had finally made the decision to go through with it! I had done my research and was very clear in my mind when people were telling me 'horror stories' (I was well aware of the risks and this forum helped enormously to help separate the reality/risk from the scaremongering, horror stories).
I'm still very open and honest about it, I don't go shouting from the rooftops but I'll happily talk to anyone who may be curious (mainly from other school Mums who secretly want the op done as well).
The only strange experience I have had is going to a wedding a few weekends ago with my husband's work colleagues (who all knew). Nothing at all was said to me but apparently I had lots of compliments on the Monday morning and surprisingly nothing lewd, just that I now had a really nice, balanced shape.

Re: Who did you tell?
Reading the stories about telling the parents is quite fuuny and something I can really relate to.
My folks are anti peircing, tattoos etc so a boob job must have seemed the extreme to them and at first they weren't happy (I don't even live with them lol) I only told them the week before, by text eeeek I sent a silly made up poem about my saggy boobs which wasn't a great idea but it was pretty funny and I was hoping that would take the heat off it.
Now that I have had it done they have been amazing and really supportive- bringing food, looking after my daughter etc so I realise I couldn't have done it without them.
I told my close friends and a couple of people at work as one of them had it done through the same company as me.

Re: Who did you tell?
I am an open book, so everyone close to me knows. My sister was initially sceptical, but she got over it. My Mum and Dad were dead against it 10 years ago, but they have helped me huge amounts since having it done. My husband is fine with it, and friends are now curious xoxoxxxo

Re: Who did you tell?
I told my mom first (over the phone) as I'm originally from South Africa and have no family here :tears: Still need to tell my mother-in-law though!!
Then told a friend (still need to tell a few more) and I'm not wanting to tell anyone from the office, as they are all blokes. So, I think I will be feeling very self conscious my first day back at work, going to try find a top that is huge to hide them for a while - any suggestions

Re: Who did you tell?
I told my parents who wernt against it, my mum was just a bit squeemish about surgery and needles! After my BA my mum said she wouldnt mind an uplift (shes 62!) but after i said they remove the nipples to put them higher she went right off the idea!
I got my BF to tell his parents 2 days before i went in as i thought they would disapprove or moan about the costs, but they were the opposite, they been really good about it!
All my friends i told were actually a bit jealous and said they wanted there boobs done too but too afraid to do it themselves!
Told the girls at my work who are all supportive. I told an intern and she got really excited about it!
Only slight negative comments came from girls with lovely bangers already

Re: Who did you tell?
Have told my husband and my best friend and that's going to be it. There is on way i'm going to tell my mum. If she asks afterwards then of course I will admit it. She had a fit when I wore a pair of coloured contacts! She still wants to control me i.e what i wear etc.. but I don't really take any notice.
My husband doesn't want me to tell anyone because they may think that it's his idea but i said that everybody knew that I was flat and unhappy before i met him so not to worry.
