6 weeks post op today! Massaging scars?
Hi Ladies
I am sooooooooo excited I am 6 weeks post op today and after my first appointment with the nurse at 1 week, she said I could start rubbing bio oil on my scars and massaging them . How do you do it, how long do you do it for and how often??
Do I actually start massaging the implant now too?
I'm not due to see the nurse/surgeon again until early Jan, when I will be 8 weeks PO but I didnt want to waste any time with not massaging!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Bring on the UNDERWIRE bras!! xxx

OMG how fast has that gone! I was advised to massage my scars with rosehip oil but used bio oil too. I would just use it when I got out of the shower (when I remembered really - I wasn't that religious about it to be honest!) I did use it all over but just a quick rub more than a massage. I'd give your ps a ring to confirm what advise he gives. x

I know Sally the time as flown by! I cant believe how fast its gone its scary!!
Thanks for that I will get some rosehip oil too. I am useless as remembering things anyway so i doubt it will be a religious thing for me either! I will give my surgeon a call.

Hi DD, I was told to massage my scars from 4 weeks, but have been told on numerous occasions not to massage boobs (OH gutted about that one ) but every clinic is so different and confusing . Can't believe you're 6 weeks, how time flies!!

I massaged in firm circular motions on scars, I was told I didn't have to massage boobs as I had textured implants, I could if I wanted it wouldn't do any harm.

Sorry DD, just re-read my answer and realised never your questions What I've been doing is pressing firmly with two fingers and massage in circular motions til cream gone and I'm doing that twice a day with E45.

I've just been told at just over 2 weeks to start massaging mine to encourage righty to drop DD, so at 6 weeks, you should be fine to massage.
As misf1 said, firm circular movements around the breast. xxx
