panic
So i just wondered for those of you a little further along how your arm movement recovery is after a ba, cos my arms are still achey and painful if i put my hands behind my head say , i jst cant do it. It feels awful. And if i lay flat and put my hands behind my head...no...it aches and pulls like crazy like i just shouldnt do it.

I can feel it pulling on my breast underneath and on my scars, it feels mingin, and just so wrong.
I wasn't given any post op excersises or anything, but notice the american girls seem to. Did any of you guys and how are your arms and movement in general?

By 4 months i kind of feel like i should be ok by now but im not. So wodering if its maybe some muscle i need to stretch out? Or should i just leave it?

Dnt wanna do myself a mischief and pull it or something

There's still lots of healing going on inside, so I wouldn't be too worried. Do you have the ok for exercise? Maybe start trying some stretches to help ease them out. You could just need a lil more time

I remember feeling like this in 1 arm at about 5 months post op. In certain Pilates positions it felt like it was pulling and my range of movement was less. Overtime it gradually eased. I'm not sure if stretching gradually helped but I imagine it did x

I think it's different for unders than overs as you have the muscle to heal and that takes time xx

Yeh, guess the muscle is just taking time to knit back together, thanks guys.

I sooo know what you mean @ mamamia, I get really weird pains when I do certain yoga stretches. That's why I wondered if this is something I should push and maybe stretch out.
But I'm just going to leave it. Its getting better cos at first it was even difficult lifting my arm to shave my pits!

So a few more weeks/months, hopefuly it will be back to normal yes

I never realised how long it takes to heal but it seems normal. I do lots of hiit classes and weights and really enjoy it so I'm worried it will take me a while to get back into that! Boobies win tho!

It's a fine line I guess - it kind of makes sense to keep stretching out the pain and not avoiding certain movement but how far do you push it and what pain is good pain??

Sorry for my rubbishness in not being able to help! Hopefully things will improve. When u think about it, it takes months to heal after having a baby and get back to full fitness and you've just had your body cut open so it makes sense it would take a while to heal!! Xx

Hey twinky!

I just got back from a holiday (wearing a bikini was FAB)

I'm now 3 months PO..

Anyway.. I got into the deep end of the pool.. turns out can't swim anymore lol!!  It was such a panick! I thought I was feeling 100%.. turns out I'm still quite stiff.  It got better with some practice!  Have you tried swimming? If not,  I'd recommend it! Xx

I think we forget all the healing that goes on that we can't see. Give it time. How about some gentle yoga? Xx

Wow kay you look flipping amazin girl! Nice to hear from you...and no I haven't tried swimming, but I am a terrible swimmer to begin with anyway! lol

It does take time to fully recover doesn't it.
I went to a yoga class yesterday actually, and I really struggled with any stretches involving my arms. And there was a few where I was laid flat on my back too that were a little painful in my left arm. It just felt all wobbly and weak(my arm).
My breast felt so tight and a little sore too, just Leftie though. I'm gona bare with it though...hopefully gentle stretching will help.

Slowly gently I'm thinking!

Ah thank you Twinky! As do you!!

I've been trying to ignore my boobs the last couple of months to be honest hence I haven't been on here a lot and it seems to have worked! They were just taking so long to heal and even though I'm not quite there I'd say I'm on my way! It wasn't until I was in the water I noticed my muscles were stiff still so if you're not a fan of swimming then just some gentle stretching I guess! Xx

I agree [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] sometimes you just need space to just get on with it, glad your getting there. Patience is key I think.
Mine feel bigger/plumper as of late, even hubby commented today. Think its just that there finally dropping and fluffing, feel more like my own! dance

And my accident with the razor has all fully healed [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]! Thank god!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I still have this too, I def do not feel 100% healed still. I try to stretch my arms as much as I can, and I've started pushing my shoulder blades together to try and strengthen my back muscles too.

Were you under the muscle,  can't remember?

P.s LOVE the new AVI, it took me a while to realise it was you lol x

Hey [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
yeh I had unders lovey. But feel finally like the muscles are relaxing and knitting back together to where they should be.

Been through a house move so kind of not been as obsessive with them as just not had the time, and they are getting better as the days/weeks/months pass. And I just feel stronger in my arms and shoulder so hopefuly you will soon. You been to that other Osteopath yet?

Yours are fab - as always!
Thankyou Give You
