Just tried getting measured in Debenhams...
...just so I could get a cotton non wired bra, but the lady would NOT touch me as soon as I said I had a BA 4 weeks ago. She said there rules are 8 weeks. She could see I was so disappointed, as I said it was more for a soft cup, non-wired/sports style bra but she said there not allowed under there rules.
I said 'if I try this bra on, that I think will fit, can you advise me at least without sizing/measuring/touching me'? (just for an idea for my own piece of mind really)She sort of said yes, so I put a 34D on, but it didn't touch my sternum, was kind of floating?
She was so reluctant she said 'look, I want to give you the best possible experience so please come back once you have a) been given all clear from surgeon and b) your 8 weeks, and we will have loads of fun getting you sorted.
So left feeling a bit disappointed as I really wanted to get some of them 'Floozie' non-wired bras, but, im 5 weeks sunday and guess Dr Sleiter will advise me on size im coming up as then and say what kind of bra he wants me in.
So roll on 8 weeks, im going back and asking for her personally, she was so sweet.
This patience thing is unbearable some days ain't it!

I can see where she was coming from to an extent - it could even be an insurance thing for them which is probably why she was reluctant to do much but sucks at the same time.
At least she was honest & determined for you to have a good experience once you've got the all clear. X

Aww bless, I can understand why they would say that though if I'm honest, these days companies have to be so careful.
I bought one of their Floozie wired bras in the sale on Saturday, love it - I went out on Saturday night with it on and managed to keep it on all night, my first successful wired experience lol! It's actually the orange one in my AVI at the moment, I got the knickers too but they were huge.
I love Debenhams bra's, I got 3 or 4 of their pretty non wired ones at about 5 weeks post op and have worn them a lot so I can def recommend them Hun xxx

Oh no 8 weeks is so long! But at least she was honest and you've only got 3 and a half weeks to go. I'm not patient either lol

There is no point At the mo really as the size will probably change anyway. And your band size is so important for the right support. Won't be long though xxxx

Honestly, I think that's pretty good of her. It's probably a store policy to cover their butt's, incase they fit you into wires pre all clear. Don't feel too down heartened, it was in your best interest.
If it help, non-wires don't sit flat to your sternum, in the gore. But, I think anne's right, there'll be so much change literally in the next 4-8wks, it's kinda a waste of money. Give it til the 8wk mark, and go back with your proud tatties!

Yep your all right, it's too early. Just really wanted a non wired bra but I think that would be uncomfy just up. ..cos my crease has been lowered I'm still very aware of it, and lefty still sore occasionaly so, will wait.
The belvia is fine on days when I feel I need it, or my cami tops, if I'm wearing a top that doesn't require the nipples hiding so much!
