10 days... illness
Hey guys,
My surgery is in 10 days! I cannot believe how quickly it has come round.
I am getting scared and worried mainly because I have not stopped being ill in the last month. I have had 3 colds, one after the other. I am worried about not being in top health for the surgery. I have not been able to exercise at all because of all this and feel fairly unfit.
Do you guys reckon that 10 days is enough to recover from this? And what happens if I come down with another cold between now and then? Is it bad to undergo surgery if I have a cold? I mean, I imagine it's not good but what can happen? Is it likely to increase my risk of infection and is it likely to affect my recovery?
What would you guys do? Would you put the surgery off for a bit or go for it anyway?

Re: 10 days... illness
It's not uncommon to get a bit run down & catch cold etc in the final run up to op.
A common cold shouldn't affect your surgery as long as it doesn't progress into a chest infection where surgery would then have to be postponed.
Boost your vitamin c intake with making some fresh lemon & honey hot drinks & avoid contact with any ill people, you should be just fine. XXX

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] iv been exactly the same with a constant runny nose but came to find it was hayfever, rather than a cold. Which are exactly the same symptoms but no matter what you do, you just can't shake it off. Iv taken some hayfever supplements and its sorted me out straight away lol gone with the runny nose and cough. Never used to suffer with hayfever but it can just come on suddenly. Obviously I'm no Doctor lol but just a suggestion. Hope you feel well soon. I was worried I was gonna be unwell for my BA too x

Hey guys,
Thank you so much. I'm getting better, eating really healthily, so I hope this will do the trick.
8 days to go!! :)
