Re: Weight gain after ba??
I think women put on weight from normally having an active lifestyle, but after BA not being able to exercise means you've got to watch what you are eating more careful then usual.
I'm sure someone with experience will be around soon and give more details.
I do believe that the weight gained is only the implants and that if more weight is gained it would normally be from eating too much and not enough movement.
Most girls bloat from the GA and everyone is different in how long it takes to go down, again this is gass-iness and feeling bloated, this would only be tempoary water retention from swelling etc not actually fat xx

Re: Weight gain after ba??
I never weighed myself in the weeks after surgery- don't have scales in my house anyway! But I know I had a hell of a lot of bloating, this is from the GA and not going to the toilet properly the week after. So I did feel heavier the week after surgery!
Just make sure you drink loads of water, eat tons of fresh fruit and veg and move about as much as possible. You'll be surprised that even just walking around the house helps!! And if you're having toilet troubles, take a gentle form of laxative, but try prunes, dates etc and healthy eating first!
It's completely normal to put on a little, but if you follow a healthy diet, lots of water and get walking, you'll soon find the weight drops back to pre-surgery weight hun!

Depends how heavy your implants are! A lot of girls worry about this, but as long as you eat healthily and stay active (short walks) you shouldn't see any difference.

I know it's hard, but please don't worry. As long as you eat healthy, drink plenty of water you will be ok. You will feel podgy as the bloated tummy make you feel like that, but it will go. Water retention will go too. Also you have the weight of your implants. But to be honest, don't jump on the scales while healing. Just be consious of what you eat. Think healthy. Xxxx

Hey :) well I work out a fair bit. Defoe my op it was 3 or 4 weight lifting sessions per week. I had y BA before Christmas and had 10 weeks off the gym. My body shape definitely changed but I only put on 3lb so try not to worry about it too much :)

Re: Weight gain after ba??
I used my recovery as an excuse to be a bit lazy, for too long! I put on half a stone as got into bad habits but I wasn't concerned as I knew the reason and I knew I could lose it again when I was ready. Sure enough I did. Any weight gain is short lived if you want it to be. But during recovery it's the last thing you should worry about and just concentrate on your healing. You'll be fine!

Re: Weight gain after ba??
Just to let know, the morning of my BA I weighed myself at 58kg, on day 3 I weighed myself at 59.2kg obviously I have the implants which are 345g each. So the actually weight gain for swelling etc isn't a lot :) xx

This, I was bloated from the GA for about a week, then following that I wasn't anywhere as active as I used to be so put a few LB on then, totally worth it though.sarahlou222 wrote:I think women put on weight from normally having an active lifestyle, but after BA not being able to exercise means you've got to watch what you are eating more careful then usual.

Re: Weight gain after ba??
I'm worried about this too as I've lost almost three stone of baby weight and really don't want it back! I've not done much exercise, just tried to eat as clean as possible, so I guess I'll try and do that as much as possible and hope for the best! X
