How soon can I wear a bikini?
Hi ladies... I'm hoping to have my BA beginning of March (not booked yet). I'm due to go on holiday at the end of May, do you think by then I will be able to wear normal bras and a bikini or will I be in a sports bra with them sitting really high on my chest still? I Wil be having 400cc teardrop unders.
Thanks

The usually time in a sports bra is between 6-12 weeks, dependant on your surgeon and your healing. They will still be quite high at 6 weeks and starting to drop at around 12 weeks. So hopefully by the time your hols comes around you should be ok, especially if you're around the 12 week mark.

Maybe drop your surgeon an email Hun and see what his protocol is. X as I say it's the surgeons advice wether it's 6 or 12weeks. X

Yes check with your surgeon. One surgeon I met insisted 8 weeks in a sports bra 24/7. Another 6 weeks (the surgeon I used). Another surgeon said 3 weeks for a holiday but I thought this was totally irresponsible, hence why I didn't go with him. If you can wait, you may feel more comfortable.

I personally would go for it in March, I'm booked for the 3rd and I've got a business trip on the 14-16th April in Barcelona, I've got 2 dinner functions to attend and just hope my nips don't say hello!! xx

I'm hoping to go back for a 2nd consultation with him soon so I'll take your advice and just ask the question.
Sarahlou I probably will just end up going for it. Is yours 3rd of March? I've got weddings and all sorts of functions over the next few months but I'm not worried about those as I can cover up if I need to, it's just the thought of not being able to wear a bikini that worries me, or looking ridiculous in one with 'frankinboobs' lmao!fingers crossed for well behaved nips all round haha x

Re: How soon can I wear a bikini?
I have to wear mine for 8 weeks 24/7, but just go for it because there's always things popping up in life that will get in the way of a clear run for recovery. The fiorst 1-2 weeks may be tough but it'll get easier, and with teh right type of sports bras, your nips will be held in nicely, and necklines may even allow for certain tops too.

Re: How soon can I wear a bikini?
I think you'll be fine. That's 3 months from the beginning Of March till the end of May which would be the most you'd have to wait out your recovery.
The only thing that could stand in your way would be the risk of complication and this is always something we should all take into consideration for when booking things.
So yeah, all being well you'll be fine sweetie. I'd persoanlly go for it. As long as you've sorted out your insurance, if you were to have a complication that would compromise your travel then your insurance will cover it anyway for you and you could book again when you're feeling better. Xx
