I got my dressings off today and asked nurse about them increasing in size as they were under muscle, she said No they wont they will stay that way..she said all my swelling was gone too so the will only drop a little underneath and soften. I have felt quite low coming home and im beginning to wish I had went bigger. I maybe should have went for a faker look even. even though im in a D sports bra they look about a A or B in clothes :( iv paid all this money for a full bust and I look no different

Hmmm you've only got to look at people's picture trails to see that they do d&f. I think she's given you bad advice or maybe she misunderstood your question. Chin up, I think yours look amazing and perfect for your frame!

Re: Curious
LIES!! Unless the nurse has had implants herself, she's just a nurse. Listen to us sweets, we know best ;)
Your boobs will absolutely NOT stay that way. Utter BS. (Im kind of annoyed here, how dare she be saying that, its scaremongering!)
As previously said, you're muscles and skin are holding them so high and tight right now, they wont look 'normal'. And trust me, you're swelling has not 100% gone 1 wk on, it can take up to 3. As your skin and muscles become accustomed to the implant, they will slowly stretch to accommodate them. They will then sit nicely in the actual breast pocked, what we call dropping.
Once that happens, then comes the fluffing. This is the process whereby the implant softens up, and all the 'goo' moves to the lower pole of the implant. Best way to explain is that currently your implant is like a capital 'D'. Once they fluff, they'll be more like a 'b', with a gentle slope from the upright to the nipple.
Physics dictates they wont get any 'bigger' - you've had 310cc increase, that's all there is and ever will be. However, the fluffing can sometimes increase a cup size as they will sit properly in a bra.
If you're in a D, you are a D!! Don't worry about what they look like in clothes right now, this is going to take months of patience and healing. You will look different, and you will love them, trust me x

Re: Curious
thank you so much again ladies, im def back down today jeez. she kinda looked at me as though I was silly, but I said well I heard peope that have unders need the muscle to relax so then they can get bigger?. and she said the natrelle ones look this way. I mind my surgeon smiling and saying yeah you want a fake look and I agreed.
if I can explain what I mean Charlii, see underneath (nipple to body) it is nice and full, but from nipple above its quite flat now, however I did chose high profile round? I thought that would achieve a round look. xx

Ruddy pics aren't loading now...
Its likely just where the muscle is holding them quite flat. I really wouldn't worry about the shape of them right now, its far too early. Even when I went for my 3m check my surgeon pronounced them 'done', and they changed 3m later! You should get a nice full round look, I've got XHP round unders, and while they look natural, they are full and round and can be pushed up under my chin to look amazing! Give it time and try not to over-analyse them right now.

Re: Curious
Oooo if I had a pound for every nurse and SURGEON who has said boobs don't change, I'd be a very rich lady now.
Ignore her lovely...half the time the nurses are called in from the bank staff so they aren't 'specialist nurses' and haven't got a clue what they're on about.
It amazes me that some surgeons though have said the same to their patients and we've had women here in tears, so upset thinking what they had at their first check up was what they were going to have as their final result.
Trust us Lou. We've seen it all here over MANY years and we do know what we're talking about. You WILL change over the coming months and it is true what they say - time is a great healer! Xx

That's a good link, and it also shows how her cleavage ended at 3m exactly the same as it was pre op.

Re: Curious
Glad to hear you are feeling a bit more positive after the wonderful advice on here.
That video was really useful to watch. I still feel like mine are sitting quite high and the muscles are still quite firm and I'm 9 weeks post op. Although I know that mine have dropped a bit as they sit differently in my comfy sports bra that I wear at the end of day. Can't believe after wearing them for 6 weeks I still like my comfy sports bra.
There's one thing I have learnt and that is time and patience are required for boobs jobs. Ruth x

Re: Curious
I'm 4 weeks po today and there has definitely been a change since I had my strapping off at week 1. I can vouch for the fact that your nurse was wrong! The way they change shape and soften makes them look very different. Pre op I could only ever consider a padded push-up but now I look womanly in a sports bra! I can't wait until mine are soft enough and healed enough to be able to try a push up bra now ;-D But I'll be saving that for special occasions lol

Re: Curious
I know that feeling! Just make sure you're only soaping across the top of your chest and letting the water run over.
If the tape marks are just around the scars, I'm afraid its a wait. The showers should help eventually, and if its itchy, put some ice packs or peas over the top of the breast, it will cool and sooth the whole of it. As for the rest of the boob, any good moisturiser will do the trick, you can use it all over your boobs, just not near your scars. So work in small blobs over the tops and sides. You'll be getting dry and itchy around the sides and back where you're in your sports bra 24/7 too, so keep that nice and moisturised also.

Re: Curious
Just to add to Charlii's post - don't put the ice near your scars hun. Only over the tops of your boobs. Ice near scars restricts the blood flow and can hinder your healing, but its fab for over the tops.
Also, if your scars are red and irritated then they'll need some padding to help act as a cushion for them. A panty liner or sanitary towel against the scars (sticky side on your bra) will work wonders and help your scars from being irritated. Xx
