Is it normal to bleed a little from your incision scars two weeks post op. I can take my steri strips off on Monday and one was peeling so I had a peek and smoothed it back down again and it was a bit scabby sand bleeding a tiny bit but that might of been where a scab has peeled. Advice please x

I had some blood on my tapes a few weeks after my op, the ladies on here and my surgeon said it's fine. There's bound to be some gunk and blood lurking so soon after - lol. As long as it is not loads of blood. If you are worried though give your clinic a ring, though I would advise not messing it too much as you don't want to risk infection xx

Its called 'Oozing' Laura and is absolutely normal babe. Don't touch your dressings or be tempted to sneak a peak at your wounds hun because that's the worse you can do.

Oozing is a natural part of healing and to disturb the wound could risk opening it up again and possibly compromising the chance of a nice neat scar.

The only time there's reason for concern would be if your wounds were sodden with no sign if the blood stopping. Xx

As long as a) it's not constantly bleeding and b) just blood, no yellow smelly pus, it's fine. Leave them be though as peeking can encourage nasties that might lead to infection.
