Compression band ? Empty Compression band ?

Post by Lyndsey81 9th May 2014, 9:03 am

Hey just want to pick everyone's brains about compression bands
I've been told to wear one for 4 weeks x
But he wasn't very in depth about if it's 24/7.
Has anyone as had one and what was your experience xx
Thanks in advance xx

It's usually 24/7 but I'm sure ladies that have had them will be along shortly to give more details x

I had one on for 6wk, 24/7 post op. Its to help stabilise and encourage the implant down. I wont lie, theyre awful and uncomfortable, but if you get it on right, you can forget its there. My surgeon put mine on wrong straight after the op, so my first week I had horrible chaffing under my arms. But my nurse showed me the correct way - pull straight across your bra line at the back, then up and over. Way better. You can also use cotton wool pads to help stop chaffing. Plus you take it off to shower once you've got the all clear to do so, so you can clean, moisturise and pop it back on.

A lot of girls worry about how to dress with it, will it be noticeable etc. Its really not. under most clothes it just looks like a peek of a vest top. Plus 4wks will go like that!

I am 9 weeks today and I am still having to wear my band to help my right drop. It is annoying and a pain but I do forget it is there.  Its not a problem with what to wear either, like Charlii said, it just looks like the top or a vest top peeking through.

4 weeks will fly by and it will be off. xx

yes early post op it will most likely be a 24/7 situation (unless you're in the shower obviously) but after that it has to go straight back on.

once you get used to the fairly tight feeling, it's honestly not that bad. i had to wear mine for 6 weeks 24/7 and you do get used to it.

good luck hun x
