Hi all,

Currently looking for a post surgery bra. Definitely getting a Macom bra. But wanted a couple of cheaper ones too. Any suggestions? I've looked at mns and asda

Asda aren't supportive enough, babe! But m&s are highly reputable for post-surgery bras! I wore my m&s post surgery bra for 3 weeks after my op! :) Shock absorbers and high impact sports bras are extremely good too! The triumph triaction and triumph triaction extreme are amazing too!!

Good luck shopping, lovely!!

Take care!! I bet you're so excited! Xxxx

hi there,

macom is a definite recommendation from me and a lot of other girls here :)
when you order them on the macom medical website, type 'MYBREAST' into the promocode box for a 15% discount.

belvia bras are NOT post surgery bras, they are comfort bras most typically worn while or just after breastfeeding as they are very soft but they don't offer the firm support that most surgeons recommend.

m&s have some good sportsbras, as long as you know or can guess your size they are good.
the non-wired high impact or extra-high impact (i preferred the fit of the latter) come in 2packs for 25quid.

or what you could do is live in your macom for the first week and then carefully try one some m&s sportsbras when you have a better idea of what might fit you.

or of course buy them and return if need be x

I was recommended m and a sports/ cross over bras which I'm wearing now after my op today. Have 2 of these and a macom too and then was going to get some triumph ones in a couple of weeks time! They say don't get too cheap as not enough support in asda ones xx

Blue has said it all. Steer clear of cheapy ones, as they just wont provide any support. If your surgeon wants you in high impact, Belvia are to be avoided too, they are purely comfort, no support. M&S 2pk high impact are faves on here for a thriftier bra, but its worth forking out on. Shock Absorbers and Triumph Triactions are also favourites. The down side for theses though is you need to know your size.

Hiya Emma, My surgeon has said to get Belvia bras as he only wants comfort for post-op and no support at all. I think this is very uncommon though so it's always best to check with your surgeon what his preference is. xxx

I have to say that after wearing my M and S bra yesterday and putting my Macom on today, the Macom bra seems much more comfortable. Plus you don't really know what size you'll end up so Macom is good initially xx

belvia bras have NO suppport what so ever, thats the bras that im in and ive to have no support at all

I do think that alot of the girls love the macom as you just need to band size

my best personal sports bra was the marks zip up front bra its just so comfortable

god I cant wait to get back into a sports bra xx

My surgeon recommended a Belvia bra too Hun I think speak to your surgeon and ask what he recommends for YOU. Macom bras sound like a good all rounder but some surgeons wants different levels of support depending on your specific surgery. My surgeon didn't want anything with compression or too tight to let the implant naturally settle in the pocket. Yours might say different.
I bought some of the m&s high impact ones and sports ones  in a couple of different band sizes to allow for swelling and they've been fine xx

I bought a macom before I asked my surgeon and although it only set me back £25 or so because it was from eBay, it turns out that it's essentially useless to me :( although macoms are amazon from what people are saying on here, do ask your surgeon before you purchase one just in case! Don't do a me!   xxx
