I received my letter from my consultation today. BAAPS surgeon at a BMI hospital and quite a good price. From what I have read about the surgeon he seems very good, he knew his stuff and was probably a lot more honest with me than other surgeons who I've seen. One thing that's stuck out from his letter though is that it says that as my chest wall slopes down my breasts will face outwards rather than forwards it also says in the letter that within clothing that I will feel that the improvement is noticeable and proportionate. I hope this doesn't mean without clothing I will look a freak!
Has anyone had this problem with their chest wall? Xx

Hey LoLo,

I haven't personally had this problem - but please don't rush into booking this surgeon. It is clear from your consultation and the wording of this letter that he is not confident he will achieve a good result for you. Putting this in writing is his way of covering his back if you are unhappy with the outcome. Looking better clothed is not good enough as a heavily padded bra can achieve that, you need to feel happy with your breasts naked.

As you say, he knows his stuff so take on board that your chest shape needs taking into account when doing this BA - this may not be straight forward so stick to specialist surgeons. However, go to some other consultations. Find a surgeon who has operated on someone with a similar physique to you and can show you before and after photo's. Alarm bells are ringing for me, you definately need to get a few other perspectives before making your decision. I'm sure you will find the right one who will ensure you are happy with your breasts both clothed and unclothed.

Best of luck with everything xxx

That's quite common Hun to have a concave chest, the way to look it as imagine you build a house , on the flat it'll be straight up, on a slight hill they'll veer off slightly only a small degree and in a dip come in slightly to a degree,
I must also have a concave chest as laying down mine part slightly , so nothing to worry about you won't have 2parting boobs. !
A bra gives the cleavage effect anyhow.

I think the clothing com met is more that you will see a diffrence on the way your clothes fit and look properaatnte in say a vest too rather than the non boobs look in a vest you may see at the moment.

So you will see a diffrence not only naked but in your clothes too.

that's good to that it's common. Feel so confused, last summer on holiday I thought that's it never coming on holiday again without boobs now I'm so confused that I feel like leaving in which case be unhappy with them for good. Maybe I should question the clothing comment then to be sure.

Hi, babe! I can'y say I have this exact diagnosed problem but I think it's very common. To be honest my nipples aren't symmetrical.. One is higher than the other and one points a little more outward than the other.. I wouldn't be too concerned as no breats are 'perfect'.. Unless you're Barbie haha! If it says they'll look in proportion through clothing then it can't be that big of a problem :) Also, if you're going with a BAAPS surgeon then you're going with someone who really knows his stuff and i doubt going with anyone else would solve your 'outward nipple' problem.
Good luck, babe!! If you're happy with the price and surgeon then go ahead and book it! :) :) :)
Good luck, honey!!! Xxxxxx

When he looked at my boobs he asked if the other surgeons had refused. This worried me firstly. He said there would be difficulties as he would have to do extra stitches to make me a crease as I'm so flat chested I don't have one. He also said that as my chest sticks out in the middle then slopes down I wouldn't get normal results and they wouldn't face forward.

Without meaning to be harsh, but from your previous post it appears that you perhaps have more of a slope than is common. I assume this is the same surgeon who asked if others had refused to operate? xx

Yes and my right side sticks out slightly further than the left. I had open heart surgery when I was seven I've been and asked my GP if this was linked from them opening up my rib cage but he wouldn't give an answer he said it could be but it might have grown that way anyway. It's not particularly noticeable to anyone else I wouldn't say.

He's also put in the letter that he didn't want to worry me but he had to let me know what the challenges were as it wasn't as straightforward as most procedures xx

Bless you hon, these things often aren't straight forward - but you'll get your dream boobs at the end of it i'm sure!

I think your Surgeon is being very honest flagging these issues up front. However, i do think it's important that your surgeon is confident that he will get you the result you want. Perhaps it won't be 100% perfect, but that you will be happy. I feel like his feedback in your consultation and letter doesn't reassure you of this. Perhaps ask him if he has any similar case studies you can see? Or any photos that he thinks will reflect what your end result may look like?

Have you considered booking another consultation via MyBreast? It's only £25 and you would then get a second opinion from a different BAAPs surgeon? xxx

I think that its great that the surgeon has been very honest with you from the get go

as you wouldnt want to go under and wake up with breasts that you didnt expect to have but he has explained what might happen, but it migt be a case of it not bwing that noticable at all

Can you go and discuss with him and get him to show you pictures of how it might look xx

Tinker bell that makes me feel quite reassured. The second surgeon did say he'd need to create a crease and pointed out the problem of my chest but kind of brushed it over. The third hasn't hid that they are challenges. Even though I was alarmed I quite trusted his honesty.
