Hey,
I think it really will depend on surgeon. I have cysts and duct ectasia- my first surgeon canceled my BA and refused to operate whereas who I've had my BA done with said it was fine and would cause any problems.

Well spire only use baaps/bapras surgeons are the company have an excellent reputation.
Have you typed the name into our search bar? It's more difficult to find information on surgeons through spire for example because a lot of women go with the big clinics... You can be assured though that any surgeon through spire will be highly qualified :) xx

Thanks for your replies, hi  geb2gos does your duct ectasia give you much pain? , I still get a let down feeling as if I was still breast feeding,  Mine can be painful then when the cysts  are active my breast are so sore like one hard lumps and bumps, every month is different and makes it very hard to notice changes within the breast, im hoping they can remove the bad bits and be pain free and get a nice pair of boobies.
Jenniferr1 hi, yes try'd the  search but only a couple of older post,
Just starting to look at surgeons but like you say its very hard to find any info on them,   im trying the 10 minutes free consultation to get an idea of what they like before I book a full consultation. Thanks x

Don't worry about not finding his name babe - because BAAPS clinics don't use commercialism to gain their business, they aren't as well known and those that do (ie Transform THG, THM..) and therefore most women opt for a 'name if a clinic' they're used to hearing about or seeing on billboards because its sort of 'familiar' to them.

Fewer women use BAAPS members because they don't believe in commercialising an industry that needs such careful consideration and therefore believe that their work speak for themselves. Which it does hun as proof is in the pudding as we've far fewer complications over the years come back from BAAPS/BAPRAS members. Hardly any if those are from Spires surgeons I might add so you'll be in very good hands. You're wise however to see a few surgeons before booking, because although all their surgeons may be good on paper, that's not to say they're the right surgeon for you... You have to have a connection with your surgeon and feel a confidence there when you leave the room. You'll know when you meet them sweetie and good luck when you go on your first one. Xx

So glad we've been able to be of assistance hun.

Do tell your surgeon also the history of cancer in your family too babe.

It maybe that they would require you to have a mammogram before proceeding. But with clinics as such as Spire they should be able to do that in their hospital for you 'IF' this were something they felt essential TALH. X

You're doing all the right things hun and if you have the mammogram results which I presume were all clear? Then it'll be fine. Having a history if cancer either in for the family, or if you've had it yourself but have been cancer free for at least 5 years won't affect the decision at all. I had breast cancer myself over twenty years ago and it was never even questioned.

But yes... You're absolutely right to gather all information, get it sorted in your head and then start making your decisions.

From the little you've wrote here TALH you seem like a very sensible lady anyway  yes  Xx

Yes it came back clear just the duct ectasia and cysts, but what iv read on here you sort of get a bigger version of what you've all ready got ,which  I hate to be honest, don't want hard lumps on top of implant,  if you'd asked me 18 years ago when I was left with 32aa after breast feeding I would have just done it no questions asked, ha, older  = more sensible x
thanks for your time again x
