During surgery..

Bit of a silly one but during surgery do you lay there in just your underwear or do they just lower the gown for you? And do they do this while your still awake? I think it's just the worrier in me finding new things to worry about! Xx

I've been told, as you lay on the table about to be put to sleep, you are asked to take your arms out the robe but they keep you covered and then once asleep they pull it down but should still cover your bottom half XX

When your being given your GA you just have to remove your arms from the gown. Then when your asleep they remove the gown. And it's put back on before you wake up. Your modesty is protected at all times lol x

Bless u I didn't think about this but they took my arms out the gown and kept me covered up whilst awake. They would have no reason to see any other areas of ur body than chest. U also have the lovely surgery stockings on too! Everyone will be so lovely to u Hun. Nothing to worry about xxxx

It's so silly but it's little things I keep thinking like I'm going to be under and just laying there in paper knickers Blush

My day needs to hurry up before I think of anything else to worry about lol xx

Lol its not silly, im the same, having such a long wait you do think about everything.... I asked a while back how far you need to go to theatre because I was worried about people seeing my bum in the backless gown lol xx

Haha I had pictures in my head of doing a bum shuffle along the wall so no one saw! :) But the robe should cover that!! xx

I had my gown fully on before being put asleep, so I assume they pulled my arms out of it and pulled the gown down while I was under xx

Makes sense for them to just pull down the gown so chest is exposed

The staff are very discreet and will maintain your modesty at all times Katie. As described, you'll walk to theatre, then when laying on the table you'll simply be asked to remove your arms from your gown but you stay fully covered.

Hi, it's a good question and I'm sure you must have so many others being 8 days post op. they'll all be sick of me asking questions the month before mine. Haha! Paper knickers and open gown! Not looking forward to that attractive look, better make sure I shave everywhere before the day Hysterical

I may have to stop myself coming on here a few days before my op cos I can see myself being a right nightmare with my questions lol. Makes me cringe thinking of just laying there in paper knick naks! Xx

Don't worry lovely you're not exposed or made to feel uncomfortable in any way! Its all done very cleverly and you'll feel fine i am sure of it xx

I lOve questions as all I want to do is talk about BA! I for wheeled down to theatre sO no bum hanging out here! That thought mortifys me! I did have a good old shave before though just in case! I was allowed to keep my knickers on! But was all prepared for paper ones! Xxxx

I was just thinkin at least after my op I can stop with the questions but I bet il still be on here thinking of things it's never ending lol xx

I was asked to bring a dressing gown with me which I wore all the way to the anaesthetist room and then took it off before theatre. In actual fact, I don't think I thought about my bum hanging out when I was getting changed into my gown.. Lol!
