I asked my PS about taking arnica and he said that it was a good idea.
for 5 days before and 30 days after??
The instructions on the bottle reads

Adults and children - 2 pillules every 2 hours for the first 6 doses, then 4 times daily for up to 5 days or until symptoms improve.
This seems an awful lot.  How many days and how many pills did you all take it for?

I'm still pre BA but was going to take them for one (possibly two) week before and one week after, I've personally never heard about 30 days after?! Wonder if any other ladies have? And then just follow the instructions on amount if pills xx

I was told to take arnica for 5 days before and 5 days after my BA. My surgeon told me any more than that and the body becomes accustomed to it and it stops working. xx

The 30 days after seems a long time, I wonder if I misunderstood him.

Hi Jesber,

I took arnica 2 pillules 3 times a day for 3 days before my surgery. I then stopped for the day of my surgery and then started again on the day after for another 2-3 days :)

This was what my surgeon recommended and not what was written on the packet.

Hope that helps a little.

Oh and I should add that although I felt bruised all down my ribs directly after my op I have yet to actually see ANY bruises anywhere and the bruised feeling went at day 2 post op!

This is what the tube reads, am I reading this right?  12 pills in day 1 and then 8 in the following 4 days?  I needs to start today as my countdown is finally saying 5 days to go yahoo

Yes, its very confusing instructions really isn't it lol... so you have 2 pills every two hours for the first 6 times...  and then just four a day for the rest of the time you use them ?
I think that's right lol! :) xx

Thanks Jennifer glad I asked otherwise I would have overdosed.  I was reading it to take 2 x 4 times a day from day 2-5.
So just to confirm 12 today (2x6) and then 1x4 for the next 4 days.  I wish my brain would work lol (It is early though!!)

It is early lool... I think that's right, 12 today (2x6) and then its either 1x4 for the next four days, or it could mean still take 2 everytime for the next few days but only four times a day?

I have mine from boots which says 'thereafter take dose four times daily for up to five days'

hopefully someone will be along shortly to double check that for you but definitely the 12 today!
Why can things never be simple haha xx

I know! I understand the first day, but for the rest when it says and then take the dose four times a day, do we take 2 pills four times a day or 1 pill four times a day lol? That's the confusing bit :/ xxx

Haha how confusing, I think I remember last time the dose was 2 pillules so it meant 2 pillules 4 times per day. So the 12 then 8 a day sounds right to me?
