Woman dies having a BA

KUALA LUMPUR: Forty-six year old Jane Lim Mei Jiuan (pic) left home in the morning to undergo a cosmetic surgery but she never made it back home for dinner with her family.

The mother of two was pronounced dead at the University Medical Centre on Saturday after undergoing a breast enlargement procedure at a beauty centre in Petaling Jaya.

“We were waiting for her to come home when I received a call saying that Jane was at the hospital,” said her husband, who only wished to be identified as Fong, 49.

“We rushed to the hospital but she was already dead.”

Fong said that he did not know that his wife had agreed to the procedure.

“She did not mention it to any of the family members,” he said.

Even after lodging a police report on Saturday, Fong said that the family was still clueless over what had actually transpired at the clinic.

In an attempt to find out more, his brother went to the centre and confronted the consultant who had handled her procedure.

“She could not tell us much,” the brother said. “All she could say was that she had only received the payment and it was a doctor, who did everything else. Then she started crying,” he said.

He said that the family would lodge a report with the Health Ministry soon after the post mortem results.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah  said that the ministry would need more details.

“If it is done by an unqualified person and you have a mortality, it is a police case,” he said in an SMS reply.

All sounds really dodgy to me!!!!!! poor girl, I hope her family get to the bottom of what happened and get justice for her death. it really from the little i read anyway here doesnt sound like she went to a reputable clinic at all for them to question if thr doctor was even qualified.

PETALING JAYA: A beauty centre and a clinic where a woman underwent a breast enlargement procedure and later died last week were found to be closed.
Calls to the beauty centre were not picked up while an A4-sized paper with the word “Closed” were seen pasted on the clinic's door.
The clinic, located around the corner from the beauty centre used to be open on Mondays and Wednesdays between 11am and 1pm.

OMG I wish I had not read this  

Something about the whole story didnt sound right Jo and from reading her family feel the same way too. I wouldn't be sir prised if this story later revealed that either the clinic wasn't fit for surgery or the surgeon wasn't qualified to operate.

As long as you've checked all your boxes you'll be fine Jo.
