Sleeping on my side Empty Sleeping on my side

Post by noellepig 10th February 2013, 10:54 pm

Hey girls,

been 10days now since my op and all is going great at this stage! seem to be healing ok, rarely get pains any more, just wondering if i'm ok to start sleeping on my side now?

I feel like I can, but just checking that theres not a time put on it or anything? Or is this somehting I should ask my nurse? I'm just so sick of sleeping sitting up! and I'm back to work in the morning so could really use a good nights sleep!

If I am ok to do it, anyone have any tips to make it comfortable? Or anything in particular I can do to benefit my boobies? xxx

ya, I think I know what you mean tink! I do feel like I'm ok to do it now, I'm not getting much pain from them at all anymore, just the odd bit of stiffness or tightness if I'm walking alot! I'll just try to keep them supported with the V pillow, and I'm obviously still wearing my sports bra and band so should be ok? xx

Maybe check with your nurse. I was allowed after my 10 day check, I don't miss the struggles to sleep in the first few weeks xx

I was going to post a similar question today! I'm just a day after you and I'm gradually getting more tilted to the side! I hate sleeping on my back!

Post by Totty1982 11th February 2013, 11:33 am

I was really scared about sleeping on my side but started 2 days ago (I'm nearly 3 weeks post op) and it feels so good to get a good nights kip!!

Like the other girls I cuddled my v pillow and put pillows under my boobs for support, you'll know what feels comfy and what doesn't. I also had a warm bean bag thing that I put by my boobs as is sooooo nice on cold nights x x

Sleeping on my side Empty Re: Sleeping on my side

Post by noellepig 11th February 2013, 10:25 pm

ya, i tried it last night! loads of pillows for support so I was still almost upright if that makes sense? also put socks inbetween my boobs for support! I felt fine really, slept on my left side all through the night but woke around 5 and my right boob was really tender to touch, I swapped sides and when I woke in the morning it felt fine again! I was abit worried about the pain in the right one but the right has been sorer the whole way through? xxx
