Swelling and sounds hollow???? Empty Swelling and sounds hollow????

Post by LouiseR11 8th December 2012, 10:48 am

I know this is a very bizarre question but i am a little concerned.
I think its due to the swelling but on my right boob close to the centre of my chest if i scratch it or tap it, it sounds hollow ( just 2 cm space of it) ?????

Has anyone ever experienced this before? im thinking its because they are really swollen but any advice?? shrug

You can hear a hollow sound? When did you have your BA? They do have to sort of knit in the pocket , hence the sports bras. Sure one of the mods will be here shortly . Personally I think it's the swelling

On Monday... i know its really weird, its only a small space on my boob and if you keep tapping and move around it the sound changes!! It sounds like there is air in it. I really hope its just due to the swelling xx

Totally normal Hun, your new boobs will make all sorts of noises in the early stages postop, due to swelling, water round the breast internally (which eventually gets re absorbed by the body) . Some say they bubble, squelch, sound hollow,. A weird effect a ba has early post op recovery but totally normal. Not only that the hollow sound could be from skin being stretched over the rib cage can create that sound. X

All normal babe. There's swelling and fluid around the breast just now so early after surgery and this can make your boobs have that hollow sound. As that naturally drains away as your body absorbs it it will go hun. Xx
