Day case girls...question...???
Iv been told i have to spend my 4-6 hours after my op on my own, my OH will have to wait in the waiting room???
Im sure this isn't right....im gonna want some company after!!
I can understand the first hour in recovery..but the whole time im at the hospital?? Also im only having deep sedation/twilight so even less recovery time than a GA??
Any advice/experiences appreciated as don't fancy going it alone :(

Awwww, I hope someone who was a day case answers your questions but I can't see how a day / night case is much different after the op! After I came round I was taken back to my room where my b/f was waiting! Have nooooo idea why he wouldn't be able to see you all that time :/ xx

Im sure its just confusion somewhere along the line, maybe they are just preparing you for a longer period in recovery. Once your back to your room he should be allowed in..xox

Re: Day case girls...question...???
I was a day case , I woke up in the recovery room was not there long and was wheeled back up to my room where my husband was waiting for me. He was allowed to stay in the room waiting while I was having my op.
So he was there upon my return!
I'm sure this can't be the case, in recovery theatre Obviosuly you'll be on your own though not for long with the nurses then back to your room where I'd presume your husband will be allowed to stay. I would phone the hospital babe to clarify that he is allowed romwaitbin your room X

Regardless of recovery time sweetness I would want someone familiar there with me not just nurses or on your own ... Phone the clinic hunny I'm sure that can't be the case. X

This doesn't sound right Nikki at all. Please don't let them fob you off with infection control/risk reasons - that's completely incorrect. Can you phone again and speak to someone else? x

Weird in most hospitals they just make you use the hand gel before you go in a room. I was a day case but not with surgicare. My boyfriend had to wait in the waiting room while I had my op, but he was allowed in my room before and after my op.
