Stitches aching??? Empty Stitches aching???

Post by Sharona 21st May 2009, 2:15 pm

Hi girls,

Just wanted to ask you if it's normal that the stitches are very much irritating me as they hurt and sometimes I have feeling that they're like little needles sticking in my skin.
I'm 9 days post op and somehow was secretly hoping that they wouldn't bother me at this point anymore as some girls have their stitches removed in 7-10 days post op.
I was told to wait two weeks, but I'm going on Monday (13days post op) as the clinic is closed on Tuesday. Can't wait that day to come!

I'm so **naughty word** because I don't need the painkillers anymore for the boobs but I have to take them to put up with this pain from the stitches!!  :pale:

I would think they are just doing thier job i.e. knitting the skin back together and a sign of healing. Are they dissolvable? or ones that have to be removed?

Aww Sharona... it's all totally normal. As the other girls have said, it's the healing process and they will itch like crazy as they heal... it drove me bonkers!!!

It'll soon pass, chin up, it'll all be worth it in the end.

Stitches aching??? Empty Re: Stitches aching???

Hi
My stitches didn't hurt but itched like hell along with my skin as it was stretching. Like pp has said, it is a good sign that all is healing up but doesn't help when I felt like I was constantly scratching by boobs (not a good look in public!). I took piriton tablets when it got really bad and they helped a lot. My itching stopped about 2.5 weeks post op.
It will pass I promise - there are lots of stages to go through and each one is a step closer to those perfect boobs feeling like they are part of you.
