Just got a measuring tape and measured under my boobs. Realised I need to get with the times and find out my real measurements! None of this adding four inches anymore from what I hear.

Turns out I am 29/30 inches under my bust. So I'm a 30a/b??!! Ha, TINY!!!

It's all so confusing as some shops still do the add inches thing and then others don't!

I measured myself and I am 30.5 so i think tha makes me a 32??!! xx

It is incredibly confusing!

I just can't wait to be adding better letters at the end of my number - 30D sounds soooooo much better :-) xx

This confuses me too. I am quite petite 5foot 2 and I weigh 8.8 stone. Got measured in 3 different places at the weekend and they all said I was a 34. So now Im gutted as I must have a really broad back or something. I am a medium build not small x

I measure 29 and la senza said I was a 34g but just bought a 32gg and it fits lovely shrug

i measure 29 under and wear a 30, but some of those are a bit big.
I can sometimes get away with a 32 if i wear it on the tightest hook, but its not as comfortable

Yeah this is why I'm confused, I've seen lots of ppl on here say that if u measure, say in my case 29in then ur a 30 band? But the shops still add the inches, so that would make me a 32. And obviously if they're still makin the bra's the same way, then i still need 2 wear a 32 bra?! Does that make sense lol?! xx

Argh!! Why can't they just make it simple for us? As if being a woman wasn't complicated enough, damnit! hissy

I guess when my time finally comes I'll be spending a LOT of time in changing rooms! For now, even though I'm wearing the entirely wrong band these old bras will have to do. Saving every penny for new 'big' bras!!! yipee

I just measured my band and its 29.5inches. So does that mean i should be a 32 in bras? It is really confusing because wherever you look says something different! They need to just design 1 system for all bras! xx

My pre op boobs were tiny, but according to the new measuring method they were a 26C! I found this out after I told my surgeon I wanted to be a C - little did I know I already was! Xx

Yeah I totally agree they really need to decide on one universal system.

Yeah I just put my measurements into about 6 different online calculators and came out 34AA, 32B, 30C and an 'error' lol! Im going shopping later, i might try a few different size bras on then. I would like a fairly accurate 'before' size! xxx

Well I'm back girlies and what a nightmare that was!!!!

I took into the changing room in La Senza a plain no fuss t-shirt bra, this one in fact:

I took in the following sizes 32A,B,C and 34 A,B,C.

I tried on the 34A and the cup was too small but it was obvious I am definitely not a 34 anymore (confirmed by the fitting lady) so I am definitely a 32 band. So then I tried on the 32A,B, and C and all the cups were strangely too small (didn't come round the sides enough) so the lady went and got me a 32D, and very bizarely it fitted, there was a slight gap at the top of the cups but she confirmed that it was definitely the one that fitted me!!!!!

I am in shock as as you can all see from my avatar I am definitely not a D cup and to be honest i am more confused than ever and it has made me realise that bra size is nothing!!! xx

totally agree, bra size is nothing, its the look you want, not the numbers and letters as they dont correspond to the sizes we have in our head.
