Got measured.. Hmmm

So im 5 weeks tomoro and couldnt wait another week i was far too curious to see what size i currently am..

So i first went into debenhams she put me in a 28g but was abit too tight so she ended up putting me in a 30ff!! was a bit shocked cause i think minny + mindy only look about a d/dd

So i thought i would try somewhere else.. the only other place that done it was ann summers so i went in there and she measured me as a 32b/c LOL

What The Hell?!!!!

i was a 32b before i had them done lol! how the hell has she got this measurement.. if she would have said a 32d then i would have been ok but not that lol!

is there a way i can measure myself girls??

I agree with misf,

The newest way and best way to determine your size is not by being measured but by getting fitted into a bra. If you do measure your rib cage then you should wear the size it is... So measure a 30, then wear a 30... The band should be snugg and worn on the loosest hook as it will quickly stretch after a few wears. As for cup size just start trying until you find what the girls fit into best.

Anne Summers ladies aren't specifically trained to fit women for bras hun, so I wouldn't take that sizing as anything serious hun.

They in general don't cater for a small back and big bust but more a generic sizing so as they're afterall saleswomen, they're going to do their upmost to get you in a size they offer if you get me.

I wouldn't 'measure' yourself hun, I'd be more inclined to go to a specialist lingerie shop such as Bravissimo, which caters only for lingerie if you can and make an appointment for a 'fitting'

Debenhams also was a good place to go too, so I'd be more inclined to trust their opinion on your sizing babe. xx

Sounds like a fitting is in order - just as well we have fabulous ladies on here to tell us these important things, I would have got measured and panicked too! Let us know how you get on with the fitting, and have fun buying some lovely new bras xx

Thank you everyone the bra that she fitted me in did feel lovely on and looked great i just thought i would get a second opinion because i didnt think they would be that size!

The lady in ann summers was reading the mesurments off of a card! she was like do u want me to get you some bras to try on? i just said no thanks and walked away lol!
I tried on one of my old bras when i got home just to check that it was definately too small for me lol! it was like nipple covers hahaha

After my 6 week check up next week i will go into the bravissimo up there and see what they say too.. i hope they say a 30ff too i dont want to be smaller now lol!!!

So one more question for you lovely ladies.. why is it that you cant wear underwire for the 6 weeks?

That says it all babe - They aren't trained to fit women into their bras, they're sales girls and just try and get you into one of theirs.

Depending on which surgeon you have and your personal recovery, if you've been told to wear a support bra for a specified amount of time this is because you're sugeon thinks this is the best advice for YOU to gain the best from YOUR recovery.

Your wounds are immature and the wires may cause some damage to them, your surgeon may feel your breasts need the support for a specified time based on YOUR operation - Whatever the reason, it's ALWAYS best to follow your surgeons advice, if you don't and suffer a complication, your aftercare that you paid for will then become null and void babe, so to get the best from YOUR recovery, follow the advice given by YOUR surgeon, they are afterall the ones responsible for your healing and know what is best for YOU to get the best from your boobs and that's what we all hope for isn't it, so it's not only the surgeon who has to work to get that for us, but we also need to play our part too and look after our new breasts in the best way we can.

Not sure how you can measure yourself Id maybe try a few other bra fitting places and double check xx

Ann summers are abit of a joke with sizes to be honest. I went in and asked for a 32 or 34g and the woman brought me an E telling me my boobs could not be bigger than that size. How rude! Just looking at your avy pic its clear your not a B cup hun. Silly woman in ann summers! x

haha, how stupid!! I got measured saturday, she told me im a 34e, but she couldnt understand how my back could be that big!! ive always wore a 34, it wasnt until i measured myself, it was coming up 31!!
She did say it was hard to tell at the mo as my boobs are still firm and havent settled. but i was very happy with that, as ive been thinking they look about a d cup, my dd sports bra is very snug now, theres noway i can fit into my d now!

ALL THE OLD BRAS ARE IN THE BIN NOW XX

That's actually a little disturbing! and not at all the protocol for giving women a fitting.

Your privacy and attention to helping you to maintain your dignity and save you any embarrassment should have been her priority, standing in a small room with you whilst you take off your bra for whatever reason she might have had is not on at all and not at all the way any woman should have a fitting babe.

When you go for a fitting you wear your bra and the fitter will ask what size bra you're currently wearing, they'll feel around the band and the straps, then stand back and take alook at the cup size, they will then bring into the changing room whilst you're still in your bra some bras of a couple of sizes for you to try on, the fitter stands behind the curtain or screen until you've changed, when you've changed into your new bra again the fitter will check the band which is the most important part of a fitting as this is what will support your new breasts, they then again check the straps and the cups to check there is no gaping or spillage of the breast, once you've found the size that's right for you, all through the fitting maintaining that privacy and dignity, they'll then go on to bring some more bras of the correct size you now are and you can then try on the bras and either ask the opinion of the fitter or request they leave you to try on the bras alone.

That fitter was bang out of order whether you were happy to have you join her or not, that's no way to treat a customer. xx

She brought in a bra and just stood there so i said oh do i take this off now and she said yes.. she even helped me do the bra up from the back!!

It's not normal at all babe, you have a right to privacy and she invaded that. Unless you specifically requested that she enter the room to assist you in any way she should have left you alone to remove and try on the bras, even after she'd helped if you requested it, she should have again after helping you left the room.

When you go to Bravissimo you'll find a very different way of being fitted and they will be very discreet and pay attention to maintaining your privacy. No fitter would just stand there waiting for you to get your kit off LOL. xx

Congrats on your FF's!!! WOOHOO!! They are DEFINATELY bigger than a B cup this actually makes me want to pee my pants laughin!
There is an old way to measure your own bra size... I did it the other day and I come out as a 30C/D... quite a way off a FF!

Just a quick update i tried a few more 30FF bras on from freya and they are HUGE hahaha! definately think they one i got from debenhams must come up small!!

i did try on a few other sizes and i would say the 30E+ 30F fit me the best. Does this happen alot when bras come up bigger/smaller?

Yes I can get away with e's or f's in some shops and g's in others. You just have to try them on everywhere you go.

Im so excited to go out and get some nice new underwear
