Vits and strips? Empty Vits and strips?

Post by Secretsal 11th April 2011, 8:43 am

Ok. So i'm about eady to book my BA. ANd still I have lots of questions.
Can anyone recomend any vitamins or homeopathic remedies etc they used before and after surgery to help with the healing process? i'm thinking it must help. you know, healing form the inside out!
Also, i've heard about strips to put on scars. What are they and when can you put them on?
All I can think of is giving myself th ebest healing chance possible. I'll do anything!!!!

I am taking arnica for bruising and bee propolis. This is a natural antiseptic, antibiotic and antifungal for the body. Obviously can't use if allergic to bees! x

You'll be told to stop taking any vitamins you're using on the run up to your op hun. Some clinics suggest using Arnica to help aid your recovery, others don't - I'd follow the advice you're given by YOUR clinic hun.

The steri-strips will be placed on your wounds by your clinic nurse babe, you'll go back about 1/2 week post-op to have your wounds checked and steri-strips replaced if needed, you'll then either be requested to go back after a week or to go back for your six week check up, depending on how well your wounds are healing - we all heal at different rates so don't panic if you're requested to go back earlier, some just heal slower than others - Your clinic nurse will provide you with steri-strips to change if they feel they're needed.

The best way to get the best from your recovery is to listen to the advice from YOUR clinic/surgeon. You'll read so much conflicting advice from others with different surgeons regarding their recovery, YOUR recovery instructions will be tailored to YOU, so follow only the advice of the surgeon YOU paid for sweetness - Good luck! xx
