bra shopping nightmare!
Tues will be my 4 week ba aniversary and I get to ditch the ugly beige surgical bra. YEA!! Anyway.... Went looking for a bra. NIGHTMARE. Really! This is the stuff horror movies are made of!
What kind of bra did any of you ladies buy after surgery??? It is really hard to find a nice bra that does not have a wire in it or push up. Can't wait till I can push them up and show them off!
I measure 29 inches around rib cage. 37 inches around my breast. According to wonderbra I need a 34C. I tried so many bras on my boobs are sore. I am not joking! I got a 34C wonder bra. It seems a bit snug in the cup. I did manage to find one 34D and it seemed to fit too but it had a wire.
My boobs look small with no cleavege. Is it because I got anitomical implants that they look smaller. The whole cup thing is confusing. I see pictures of people with C cups and they look way bigger than mine.
Sorry this is so long.

Re: bra shopping nightmare!
Hi candycain...have you been professionally measured? I was really surprised that Ive worn the wrong band size all my 'bra wearing' life, it makes a big difference to your cup size...
The first couple of bras I bought post ba are underwired plunge bras by panache. Although my surgeon told me to all was well and to go and get measured at 3 weeks ( 2nd BA ), I didnt actually do so till 6 weeks+
I think your still early days get and are going to see significant changes over the next weeks and months...x

Re: bra shopping nightmare!
I am going through this too..... Sigh.
Is the surgeon's "band" measurement the one to go by? I mean when he measured me pre-op. Or does that need to be done again post-op? I don't think I ever knew how to buy the right bra to begin with....

Re: bra shopping nightmare!
I agree the non wired bras are horrible and not flattering on the new boobs... you will feel better when you are in a good wired bra.
As mentioned above have you been measured? I think that the 34 band is too big on you if you are a 29 rib cage I would say that you should be in a 30 or 32 which whould mean an DD cup!
Truly go and get measured having a proper fitting bra makes a world of difference!

Re: bra shopping nightmare!
I am going to go for a proper fitting in a few weeks. Just wanted to wait a bit to let them settle. I am praying for a mircle that they will "fluff" and get bigger.
I thought for bra size you measure rib cage add 5 for the band size. Is that wrong?

Re: bra shopping nightmare!
CC, with those stats you are a 30E / 32DD!
You will NOT find a 'normal bra' which fits nicely at 4 weeks, I didn't at 6 weeks!!
I bought some pretty non wired bras from Debenhams and still wear them fir work now.
Give it time Hun, easier said than done I know xx

You will be a 30/32 backsize candycain. With probably an E/F cup. Don't go crazy with the bras as you'll find they won't fit soon.

Re: bra shopping nightmare!
I think you've had great advice there sweetness - You need to get measured - Debenhams or M&S do some nice non-wired bras and will measure you to be sure you're 'fitted' in the correct sized bras. xx
