how many check up appointments after?

Hi Ladies

As people will know from my previous posts I am trying to get my BA done just before Xmas - but running into problems.

1st consultant could do the 23rd Dec - (if he isn't off work recovering from a knee op) at the Circle or Bath BMI which both stay open over Xmas. Had letter from him after my appointment about all we discussed but he still doesn't know if he can do it!!!!

2nd consultant - (have made appointment to see him at Bath BMI, but haven't seen him yet), could do the 21st Dec at the Nuffield Bristol, which closes in between Xmas and New Year. Have had letter confirming appointment (which is only 15 mins as I have been squeezed in before surgery supposed to start), and saying they will be sending an invoice for £90 (seems alot for 15 mins)

So can someone please tell me how soon after the BA will I need to go back for checkups and will these be at the hospital or could they just be at consulting rooms?

I think I will ring up 2nd consultant's secretary today and double double check that he can do the 21st as I don't want to pay for a consultation if he can't - may as well wait for the 1st consultant at the hospital closest to home - even if it means waiting until the Feb half term hols.

Sorry for the waffle - just need to rant to get my options clear in my mind!!!

You'll generally have your stitches checked and your boobs given the once over by a nurse at 1 week post-op.

If all is well, you'll then get an appointment to see your surgeon around 6-12 weeks post-op. xx

I had an appointment with the nurse at day 10 post op and then with consultant at 6 weeks and that's me clear til a year post op. It just depends on the surgeon and how you heal.

i had one at 10 days, and one at 3 mths

thanks for replies - I was worried about how I would have check ups if hospital was closed for Xmas, but seems it can be flexible between a week and 10 days.

Still haven't had reply to e-mail about dates!!

I had mine at 10 days... my 6wks check is next week x

i had mine 7days , 14 dayswith nurse and am due one with ps 3months after x think there flexible tho x

I had my first check up 8 days post op with the nurse and then 3 months with the surgeon.
