Numb Empty Numb

Post by anniexx5 13th August 2010, 11:47 am

Hello everyone,
I'm just comming up to 2 weeks post op, and every thing is perfect except for i'm totally numb on my nipples, i had my 10 day check on monday and the nurse said i should have some feeling in them by now but i might just be stubborn, which is totally not me anyway Numb 557141
But it is starting to worry me a bit, i know its a risk in having a ba but has anyone else had numb nipples for this long???

Ive had no tingling/burning/itching or bubbling through the whole healing process so far( i know its early days, lol,)and i haven't even had to take any of the pain killers given to me, but it worrys me that other peolpe have had these symptoms and its showing signs of healing and i have had nothing, but the nurse said my stitches are brilliant and are only very small white lines, with a few scabs either end.
So should i stop worrying and just be gratefull i have no pain??

I'm coming up to 2 weeks and my left is still completely numb. I wasn't told about how long it would take to return to normal. My right came back about 3 days post op.

I think it's normal hun. Try not to stress, still early days x x x

Or you might just be 'NORMAL' sweetheart.

Lots of us have no sensation babe and this can take anything from a day post-op to a year post-op to heal... I'm now 8 months post-op and my left side is still numb but I'm not at all concerned, it took a year after my first BA for me to regain sensation but it did return so I'm just being patient till it returns again this time.

10 days is nothing hunni! You've got plenty of changes ahead of you and you have absolutely nothing to worry about at this stage. xxx

I agree I have full sensation back now but it took just over a year. However in places the sensation is reduced compared to what it was. It doesn't bother me.

My nipples aren't totally numb but I do have very reduced sensation in both - you are very early days though, I wouldn't worry too much at the moment, as the other girls have said, we all heal at different rates. xxx
