Cost for removal and re-aug after removing PIPs
I am unsure whether and maybe someone can clarify please,, are surgeons under any obligation to take PIP implants out if there have ruptured after the 3 year aftercare period has expired..? I am guessing not
I am trying to get my head round costs if the worst does come to the worst and I am forced to pay, I will look at another surgeon to do it.
The Mybreast website appears very imformative and they are offering free Nagor implants for PIP ladies.
It looks as though many surgeries are offering discounted ops for replacements.
What are the discounted rates looking like cost wise?
Also if we do opt to just go elsewhere are we still able to try and claim compensartion back?, im guessing that we have to offer our orginal surgeons the chance to put it right first?

One member looking to have her PIPs replaced was just quoted £4300 through MyBreast hun and £3490 through Rubicon.

I would log my complaint with a solicitor before you undergo any surgery hunni, then inform your solicitor of your medical history and the all costs incurred through the PIP implants, including those of having to have the PIPs replaced, that way if compensation is offered you will be sure to be entitled to it babe.

Had consultation with Transform today about PIP replacements, their price is £4400 and i am going with that. But i also found out that anyone who had PIP implants put in by Transform can have them replaced for £2450. Just incase that helps anyonme.xx

No I didnt go with transform. I am just very reluctant to go back to my original surgeon as I dont feel he did a brilliant job on them in the first place. I cant afford that sort of money though. That seems quite a high price for Transform?

Re: Cost for removal and re-aug after removing PIPs
Transform charges £3995 or less for BA if its your first but Re-aug is £4995. But obviously there is always discounts when you ask! There is a company called Rubicon in London that are charging £3450 ish for Re-aug with Mr R Frati (who also works for HMG i believe), but i suspect that there aftercare probably isnt great. At least with Transform you get 10 years.x

Aftercare... It hasnt really helped any of us currently has it? I know these are unusal circumstances but in reality would any of them really help you out 8 or 9 years down the line? I would imagine you would have a fight on your hands?.. Or mybe im just skeptical because of the not so great aftercare ive recieved.

Re: Cost for removal and re-aug after removing PIPs
I understand what you are saying Bubblegum, i think all the companies have fobbed us all off over PIPs but in Transforms defence, at least they are offering re-aug at half price. My sister had hers done in 2004 with them and thats what she has been offered, even though she has had no problems with her implants. I wish that was all it was costing me!! xx

You actually get 3 years aftercare from Transform, alot of people are getting confused atm with Transform saying the implant warranty is covered for ten years and not realising this is different to the aftercare cover.
Taken from the Transform website -
7. Comprehensive aftercare policy
We offer a three year readmission policy for clinical complications
post surgery. In addition, our breast implants come with a 10 year
warranty.
And as you can see from the main page, it only stated the implant warranty of ten years.

Re: Cost for removal and re-aug after removing PIPs
Thanks for clearing that up Cookie. I read the info i was given again and it does say 3 years aftercare but it also does say that if i get CC or rupture within the 10 years they will redo them, so im still happy with that. I am now beginning to worry though what other problems i may encounter after the three years that wouldnt be covered? x

Re: Cost for removal and re-aug after removing PIPs
doh I did mean to say 3 years lol.
It 'used' to be 5 years, but they changed it ages ago!
Yep it's the implants that come with a 10 year 'expectancy' guarantee, again depends what implants you go for.

Re: Cost for removal and re-aug after removing PIPs
Hi Georgie - btw it's a pleasure to 'kind of' meet ya pet
I wasn't given an option either and when I asked about the Inspira range my PC didn't have a CLUE what I was talking about :(
Please don't let my negativity of Transform put you off; I would still recommend them without a shadow of a doubt, just not the Edinburgh clinic and not a PS that specialises in beaks and not boobies
Where/who is HMG? 525cc's is what I should have had to fill my 'empty puppy ears' haha... Not long to go now chick
xoxo

Re: Cost for removal and re-aug after removing PIPs
Sorry! Lovely to meet u, been reading your diary, you have such a way with words! you made me chuckle! Havent read it all yet. Sorry to hear that you didnt get what you wanted, its such a build up to the op and when you wake up and arent happy its horrid. Hope you get them to sort it out. Oh and its disgusting the way they spoke to you.
HMG is the Harley Medical Group. I had my second op with them but their attitude towards me over the PIP thing means that i am having my third op with Transform. I feel like having three op's with three different surgeons sounds bad but hopefully third time lucky! lol xx

Re: Cost for removal and re-aug after removing PIPs
Hey my lovely!
OMG yer kidding... sounds like you've experienced something similar with HMG like what I have with Transform (attitude etc).
Can I ask why you had a 2nd op?
Sure it's not your fault yer having to have a 3rd op, especially with all this PIP scare etc, lucky you can afford it lol.
Awww thanks, yes I do tend to get lost in the moment when I'm merrily typing away lol. I just tell it like it is toots, my life is quite odd at times, so like to share it to make it less weird
What profile did you have and getting?? Are they unders or overs etc?
Sorry for the q's, just genuinely interested
Cherry xo

Re: Cost for removal and re-aug after removing PIPs
I think if I have to go elsewhere I will get a quote from Transform,
Having researched surgeons I am liking the sound of Shiva Singh and Dr Khan?
Where is Shiva based now and does Mr Khan work for any other places other than Tansform?
Thanks

Re: Cost for removal and re-aug after removing PIPs
Hey Cherry, will do a quick recap for you! lol
I was really bullied for being flat chested so i knew i had to have implants. I started a 32A and went to Bodyline (now The Hospital Group) for 260cc. Was told i would be the D that i asked for but ended up a 32C! i was hysterical. My husband said he would pay for the re-aug but after i had finished having all the kids that i wanted, i agreed. The 2nd op happened Jan 2009, HMG put 450cc in and gave me a 32E! I then found out about all this PIP stuff (one week ago!) HMG told me not to be silly when i rang them and wanted £5500 for the re-aug! Luckily i have a wonderful husband who just wants me to be happy, so I am now going to transform on Monday costing £4400 and i am having 525cc because i want to feel like i am getting something for the money! I only had the consultation yesterday and i booked it! I am having high profile but i dont know if it is under or over?!!! how bad is that!! Hope that answered everything! sorry its so long winded!! xx
