Pre op appointment

Hi Ladies, just a quick one ...... I've got my pre op appointment with my nurse in a couple weeks time and I just wondered what this is all about. My nurse has said that she'll take my bloods then so I'm prepping myself for that (I have a HUGE needle phobia!!) but do I need to physic myself for anything else ??? I just want to be prepared that's all!!!! :wavey:

You'll be fine hun.

You'll be asked your medical history, asked your height, be weighed and have your pre-op pictures taken as well as bloods taken and possibly other tests (I had to have an ECG) if felt necessary.

Nothing at all to worry about hun. xxx

As cookie said don't worry you will be fine. I had no previous medical problems so had no need for blood tests etc

I am terrified of needles also so i spent the whole day of my pre op feeling sick and shaky in anticipation of the blood test, even got my boyfriend to drive me in case i passed out and couldnt drive home (embarassingly happened on a few occasions)

Imagine my relief when i didnt have to have a blood test YAY nurse said as i was healthy and no medical conditions (apart from raynauds) that didnt need one!!!! so i was just weighed, had blood pressure taken and asked a zillion health questions. Nurse really friendly wish id known i might not have to have a blood test then i wouldnt have ruined my day by panicking so much.
