Showers
im 13 days post op now and I still can't bring myself to get in the shower. I had an appointment at 6 days post op where the nurse took the tape of my stitches and said its fine to shower. I am a shower person normally but ive just been having shallow baths. It just doesn't seem right at the moment to be getting the scars wet. Did anyone else feel this way or when was you told you can shower?

Re: Showers
My stitches are inside they said and are dissolvable. I think I'm just been paranoid I so want to get a shower. Baths are so boring if you can't lay down and relax. Ha ha x

Re: Showers
I was straight in the shower after the all clear! I was allowed after 1wk, and had to change my steri strips each time. There was a little tantrum, mostly through fear of the implants falling out, but my god did it feel good. Take a deep breath and go for it! And blow dry them on cool after to make sure theyre bone dry after.

Re: Showers
Thanks charlii, see that's another thing that bothers me is I don't have steri strips now they just got taken off on day 6. I have been given the go go ahead to shower as normal. I'm just going to have to take the plunge. I will shower tomorrow. X

Re: Showers
I was a bit the same - I felt too invalid to shower - haha!! Even now I can't really stand facing the shower for long as the water feels so odd on my boobs - almost painful. I remember it being the same when I was breast feeding. You'll be fine in the shower - go for it - it will make you feel more like a normal person again!! Xx

Re: Showers
I didn't manage the shower until the 3 week mark!!! I couldn't stand up straight. It felt weird water going on them. Just make sure you put the cool hair drier on them to make sure they are completely 100% dry xxx

Re: Showers
Yay!!! Good work! Little achievements like that make you feel normal again don't they!! Like I can reach up and get my children's facecloths off the top of the tall radiator in our bathroom now. Well done me! X

Re: Showers
That's great you managed your shower. I thought I would never be able to open my top cupboard, I started on tip toes then about 5 weeks I done it and I was so pleased with myself. Xx
