Showers
Hi all
Hi all
Feel silly asking this but how soon after lift and aug did you shower? And until shower day what did you do? Can't imagine head over the bath to wash your hair is going to be possible
It's really troubling me as I am a shower a day gal.....

Re: Showers
Hi, I had shallow baths and washed the bits of my top half I could get to with a flannel! I kept sports bra on. OH washed my hair over the bath twice but it didn't take long until I could do it myself. Lots of girls book in for a wash at the hairdressers about a week after op.

Re: Showers
Hey Bexx :)
I am fairly OCD about hygiene and I have been stunned at how okay I have been not being able to shower or bathe properly.
I'm day 14 post op and feel fine (not showered yet and don't plan to for a few days due to an issue with one of my wounds).
Dry shampoo was my saviour until I could wash hair over bath (day 6 post-op I think).
Shallow baths and strip washes twice daily. Plus, in the first few days, I used packets and packets of baby wipes keeping my skin feeling clean and fresh (especially useful under arms where a wet flannel might post risk of getting dressings/wounds wet).
The one commandment my surgeon gave me was DO NOT get wounds wet for at least 2 weeks.
Even in the hot weather we have had over the last few weeks I've managed fine and I truly thought it would be purgatory for me (although washing my hair on day six was sheer bliss!!)
Good luck Lovely.

Re: Showers
Its generally around 2 weeks after a lift Bex.
I don't have a bath, so showered down my bottom have and having a basin wash with a flannel for the top.
My daughter helped shower my hair for me, whilst I just bent forward grabbing hold of boobies lol.
As Zoe said, dry shampoo helps get you through the first week. After that you generally feel up to having someone wash your hair for you. At around 10 days if you wanted to make a hairdressers appointment to have a wash and blow dry, you should feel fine to have this done by then. Xx

Hi Bexx
I was allowed to shower 4 days after lift and aug. Definitely needed hubby's help as there was no way I would have attempted it on my own.
