Hi ladies,
Yesterday I had my first consultation. It was through vip cosmetic surgery and was with guy sterne. He was really warm and friendly and I didn't feel nervous at all seeing him. I told him my biggest worry about the operation was having the anaesthetic and he told me that the complication rate was so low that you were more likely to crash on the way then to die from the GA which really put my mind at rest.

Next he examined me and said I had plenty of tissue to have overs. Then I tried on some sizers... This is where it got weird for me!! In my mind the sizers would be actual implant shaped things... These were in a big velvet lined suitcase and were like prosthetic boobs! They even had a nipple. I found it difficult to judge sizes from them because they didn't seem to have much projection and were quite long and only full in the lower pole. I could understand them being sizers for anatomicals but we had decided on rounds. Anyway I tried on a 430 and a 520 and the 520 was definitely too big on me. We decided somewhere around 420 was about right and then my time was up.

This was just a free consult that was only 15 minutes so the next consultation will be more in depth. I then went downstairs with a nurse and she took me to a secretary type lady who gave me my quote, which is £4200.

I've booked to see someone at Harley medical too so that I have someone to compare to, but I think guy sterne is the surgeon for me!

I'm hoping to book for the first week of November. Is it unrealistic to get a date that soon?

Thanks for reading my waffle lol!

Ooh fab! I did find it hard to get an idea of the size and shape whilst trying on these strange prosthetic type boobs. Did you get to try implant shaped sizers on? I'm 5'7 and 9st 6 although I could do with losing that 6lb because it's my all inclusive food Baby from the summer lol. I am going for the slightly larger then natural but natural looking type of boob And my bra band size is a 30. Don't suppose anyone could offer any advice on ccs?

On a seperate note your story is the first thing I read when I joined this group Rachel :)

Sound like a good experience. The 'secretary' lady is a PCC, essentially a glorified sales woman. She's not medically trained in any way, so no medical or size advice from her, just money and aftercare! You'll come across these in all corporate clinics.

Good that you're seeing another surgeon, I'd throw in a 3rd for a good average. Harley have some mixed reviews on here, so have a read around. If you wanted another free consult direct with a surgeon just for info sake, the hospital group do this.

Have a play with some rice boobs, that should help to give some size indication. And dates all depends on what the surgeon has open. Some girls get in within weeks, some have to wait months for a 'popular' surgeon.

Unfortunately not, they were the same as you tried everywhere I went! Definitely have a play around with some rice sizers though cause what you like on yourself could be totally different to someone else. Although I'm sure on here their is a post about pre & post op stats that might give you a rough idea on where you might be aiming for.

Hope it was helpful, that was quite a while ago now & definitely needs updating xx

Also sorry, (I'm a bit excited so my post is a bit scattered lol) how do you choose projection? I want them to look natural but on the larger side of natural and not have a whole lot of side boob because I've always had wide flat boobs and I want to move away from that. Can anyone give me any insight?

Thanks :)

Just explain that to your surgeon. You want more forward projection than side boob. A lot of it will be based on your breast width diameter, as this needs to be filled within a 1cm tolerance, so that will really dictate the diameter of the implant. You'll go into it in more depth when you see him again.

Congrats on having your first consultation!! I haven't come across those sizer things - I've always just tried to actual implant but to be honest the sizers you tried are probably designed to be more accurate in terms of final outcome. The implants I tried on kind of just balance on top of my own boob which probably makes them seem larger than they will be! I've booked my surgeon and have a sizing appointment next month so maybe it will be similar to what you had.

I saw three surgeons and I'm glad I did - all were nice but you know the right one when you meet them!

And nov seems realistic to get a date. I could have got in sooner with mine but I picked the date that suited me in terms of time off work etc.

Keep is posted - exciting!!! Xx

Very exciting! I'm similar in stats height and weight wise to you Lucy so I'll be interested to see what size you go for.
I made some rice boobs but the 350 looked huge on my in comparison to the 430 sizer I tried, whereas before I thought the rice would be quite accurate I'm now wondering if it is or not lol. I'd prefer to get the date sooner rather than later because I'm naturally a worrier and so I don't want to get to the point where I start second guessing my decision. I'm currently a 32c but deflated from breastfeeding. does anyone have an idea of what size a 430 implant would make me?
