Hey All

I thought I'd update you on the final outcome of my complaint.

I'd seen 3 surgeons, before going down the official complaints route, including the original surgeon who actually performed my procedure. He obviously wasn't going to budge and admit he could've advised and performed better. The second surgeon, who performed the nipple correction also refused to admit improvements could be made. The third was nice and understanding but again, didn't really want to get involved on another surgeons case.

So after the final response of the level 2 complaint and lots of angry letters, it was agreed I'd meet with the fourth surgeon, which I did a few days ago, and he was fantastic. He explained to me everything the first surgeon didn't but should have told me at my very first consultation. I now understand how my breasts were pre-op, how they are now post-op and where improvements can and should've been made. He advised he would make improvements to the breast by changing the implant for the same size as the left, which should've been done at first surgery.

He has advised the complaints director of this and what could be done to improve the breast. He has since contacted me to confirm he will agree to allow the improvements to go ahead under the re-admission policy.

After 15 months of upset, I can finally try to put it all behind me and move forward. I'm so pleased to be receiving treatment to improve my results. They may not be my dream breasts, but thanks to the fourth surgeon he has been able to explain to me why I wouldn't have achieved the result I wanted but can give me the best result possible by correcting the issues the first surgeon refused to fix.

It has been a long fight but I have to say how great the complaints director has been. He's really taken the time to assure me he'll try to do his best based on the advice of the fourth surgeon, and he has.
So now I just need to wait on a date coming through to have the procedure and I'm all done.

I do wish I'd asked to spend more time with other surgeons before deciding but even I wouldn't have expected the issues I experienced with the first surgeon. I just hope he realises he still has a long way to go in learning how to deal with patients, improving communication and understanding his pride and ego may some day get him into serious trouble. If I'd known how inexperienced he was in terms of attitude and dealing with problem breasts I would have stayed well clear of him. I guess that's also a lesson learned for me too!

So, if i could give one bit of advice, take the time to know your surgeon ladies. Ask them everything you can about your breasts, types of implants and different procedures. If they try to rush you, go elsewhere as they obviously don't care about the patient result as much as they should.

Take Care

I see you're with Transform sweetheart, ive unfortunately been there and done all of what you've been through until my husband could stand no more and took me to see a BAAPS surgeon.

My heart really went out to you reading this and I'm so glad you found a surgeon who 'listened' to you and your needs and is prepared to help you.

May I ask who this lovely surgeon is? Xx

Thanks Ladies.Mr Chips, as he's known (from Poland) was the fourth Surgeon who really helped me out. But it turns out he's leaving Transform. So I need to wait to be matched up with yet another surgeon, go through another consultation then see where we go from there. I have been assured that no matter what happens, at the very least Mr Chips' recommendations will be honoured.

So yeah still feeling a bit apprehensive but hopefully all will go as planned.
It really helps to have such nice and understanding women like you to get us through it all. Especially Cookie. What you have gone through my lovely is astounding and you're still here helping us. Bless you Cookie! Xxx

It's said everything happens for a reason isn't it and I do believe im here because of all I've been through and I try along with other ladies here so hard to get women to do as much research as possible pre-op, because I absolutely know had I not been so naive when I started out on my journey things would have been so, so different....but then, if I had done that...I wouldn't be here now! Lol

If you don't have their promise that the surgery Mr Chips has suggested for you will be honoured, then email your PCC hun and get it in writing.

Nothing is set in stone unless you have it in writing. You could have this next surgeon disagree, but if you have it in writing there's no questioning of you having done what's been suggested. If not and this surgeon disagrees then because there's no proof of the surgery being honoured they could well then question that and revoke what was suggested for you.

I know it may sound OTT Blacksparkledstarr but trust me, what you have between you and Transform is a contract, so to enable for you to legalise that contract you need it in writing.

You don't need to be pushy or anything sweetheart, just write and tell her after all you've been through you'd just feel more comfortable having the acceptance of this surgery plan Mr Chips suggested for you in writing so there's no confusion at all. Don't acceot any excuses - get it in writing.

Once you have that you can relax then. But until you have that you have no legal standing that the surgery will be honoured. Xx

Hey Cookie

Thanks so much, once again your advice is spot on. The compliance director promised he would call me the minute he received the report from Mr Chips. I have to say he called the very next day and said he has Mr Chips'report in writing and he's happy for me to have the procedure done. He's arranging a meeting with the other surgeon for me too. He really has been great and kept me informed by phone rather than waiting for letters but he said he'd confirm this in writing too.

However we both know how things can change so I recorded my consultation with Mr Chips to be sure I had the proof. I have 40 minutes worth of audio but hopefully I'll never need to use it.

Thanks again Cookie, I'll keep you posted. Xxx
