So today I went to see the nurse for the dressing change and turns out I only had internal stitches and didn't need anything pulled out. Hurrah!

They have healed so well  :ok:  so she didn't put new dressings on and I can have a shower and I've been told to massage them once a day as mine are still quite firm apparently. To me they feel a ton softer than week ago.
I will take some pictures and update my picture trail later. I'm actually going to work after I've had a shower- only doing few hours of teaching so nothing heavy! I must say driving 40mins into the clinic and back has made me feel a little sore and I'm now convinced I wouldn't have been able to drive any sooner.

Also I wanted to get another sports bra to alternate with macoms so went to John Lewis and was measured for on Triumph TriAction Hybrid Star P sports bra as they offer most support.
AND I walked out of there with a massive grin and even filled in the customer service review form for excellent service because
I am now a proud owner of 32E!!!!! sports bra  dance

Cannot believe it. I was measured 34A before my BA in M&S and been wearing 34A/AA bras all my life.

So happy  yipee

I am actually gobsmacked- in a positive way.
Not disappointed in one bit! They look what in my head a C cup looks like and that's what I asked for. Totally happy with the size. I know it will most likely change for bigger/smaller over the next 6 weeks but for now I walk around like a Cheshire cat with a huge grin on xxx

Also seeing my boobs without dressing explained why my left has been aching so much more- I had more bruising on that side but it's all going now :)

Excellent news kdeee, really pleased for you.

However, I do want to point out - was it the nurse or your surgeon that said to massage? Personally, I would NOT be massaging your implants at all unless told to by your surgeon, especially if you've had textured implants (not sure what CMH are). At 8days post they're meant to be firm still, and need to adhere to the pocket. It'll take months for them to soften. Massaging them this early will disturb the pocket. I'd either leave it until you've seen your surgeon, or ring him to confirm. (Sorry, someone has to be the voice of doom without Cookie around!!)

I'm glad I inspired you to get measured Kadi - and I am soooo happy for you :)
E = ecstatic & Excellent
glad you didn't need anything done to your stitches, I though I was getting mine out completely just turned out that it was for the ends to be snipped so there was no imperfection in the healing...
Glad you can shower now - yay for being properly clean again haha xxx

Post op check done Empty Does this look ok?

Post by kdeee 24th February 2014, 4:23 pm

It was the nurse who told me to massage them. I will hold off doing so.
Anyway I have just had a shower and I'm cursing myself for not taking pictures before the shower or having a closer inspection of my incisions as I am worried now.

There is redness and like an opening at the scar on left side. There is no blood or discharge when I pad it with clean tissue though.
Does this look ok?  I have just sent this picture to the clinic too..  panic Post op check done Photo10

This all looks fine to me, mine were like that at 1wk. It will scab over eventually. Did they give you any gauze tape or micropore to put over them at all? Just be very careful with them, only soap over the tops and let the water run down, and blowdry them on a cool setting! Sounds crazy, but its the best way to ensure they are fully dry, as moisture encourages nasties.

Thank you Charlii.
I think it's probably a scab then. The right has healed so well in comparison and there's no scab/redness whatsoever.
I only applied soap to shoulders and arms and just let water run down my chest as you said. I padded it dry using tissue paper.
They didn't give me any tape as she said it's healing well. She gave me soft pads though to use between bra and scar for few more days to reduce friction. She said that she would redress them if they weren't looking as good as mine did. Phew. Thank you again. Goodness knows what I would do without this forum xx

Thank you. I still think he is a boobie genius :)

Mrs.Ball- thank you. I won't massage them. PS said the same- told me to leave them well alone and stay in sports bra except for the shower. A bit naffed with the nurse now as how many will follow her advice!?

I'm so chuffed with the size it's unbelievable  dance

Thank you Mrs. Ball & Tink. I will not massage them and now remember PS saying to leave them well alone and in the sports bra as I asked him about it in my second appointment with him.

I think Mr. Meleagros is a boobie genius. I just hope he won't retire by the time I need my next one  :ok:

hahaa- not sure why I replied twice here earlier.

Toni- yes work was fine although felt a little stiff but I did it :) I am teaching for 1 hour tomorrow- so nice easy day for me again.

I think driving was the hardest bit- no pain doing so just aching afterwards. It's like going to the gym after a long time off
