Weird little lump!
So I have discovered a little hard lump just about an inch to the side of my nipple, its about the size of a pea and is rock solid. I cant see it through the skin but I can feel it. Could it be something on thw implantthat I can feel that should be behind my nipple and is just too far to the side or should it not be there at all? This left breast is doing my head in its one thing after another! Has anyone vome across anything like this before? I do have my old implants - my surgeon let me keep them - and they do have a little roumd lp on thwm where the nipple would be positioned. Is this what I can feel? Can't find anything on the right one but perhaps its behind the nipple? Xx

Re: Weird little lump!
I think you should make an appointment to see your GP Rexie. Any breast lumps you feel should be investigated.
This isn't your surgeons are. They're plastic surgeons. You need to see your GP who will refer you on to a breast clinic if they feel its necessary babe. But do make the appointment ASAP sweetheart. Xx

Re: Weird little lump!
Hi Cookie, thanks for the advice. I will examine it further when I get home from work and ring my GP. This has got to be bad luck thing number three hasn't it?? 1. Concerns and worrying myself sick about left implant pocket 2. Unexplained horrible allergic reaction 3. Weird lump. That's got to be it now, bad luck comes in threes.xx

Awwww don't think like that babe. It could be something as simple as a cyst, and once that's sorted its gone!
Do get it checked out though sweetie. The sooner the better. Xx

I agree cysts are so so hard when you feel them but can easily be drained xx

Re: Weird little lump!
Hey Rexie,
What you are describing sounds very like a cyst. I have one exactly like you describe, close to my nipple, rock hard and the size of a pea. You can't see it, but you can kind of pinch it either side so it's visible from the surface...it's like a hard ball under my skin. I have had it for years, and my GP has confirmed it's nothing to worry about. Get yourself checked out hon, i'm sure it's nothing to worry about xx

Re: Weird little lump!
Thank you missCET. Is there any reason it would have appeared after my BA though? I had a mammogram just last year and it was clear. I will get it checked, have an appointment next week at the GP :) xx

Re: Weird little lump!
I'm not sure, but mine appeared out of nowhere. It may just be a coincidence? What characterises cysts is they are typically very round...hard ball-like, like a pea. I have had mine for 10 years, apparently they can disappear - but mine never has. I am having my BA on Tuesday so my surgeon is going to remove it for me.
Obviously all lumps should be checked by a GP, but i'm sure it's nothing to worry about hon xx

Yes, kind of roll it in-between your fingers?! It has very distinct edges, like a small marble under the skin xx

A GP will be able to tell you very easily if they think it's a cyst, hope it all works out ok for you xx

Re: Weird little lump!
Thanks for the advice hun, hoping thats all it is. If it is what do they do? Just stick a needle in and drain it? Don't wantthem to pierce the implant!! Xx

Re: Weird little lump!
If it's a cyst - unless it's causing you pain, they will probably just leave it. My doctor said it was only a cosmetic issue so unless it became much bigger they'd leave alone, i'm only getting mine removed because my surgeon offered.
Either way, i'm sure they will be careful of the implant.
A breast lump is always stressful, but in most cases it's absolutely nothing to worry about xx

Re: Weird little lump!
I'm not overly worried about it in all honesty, I've had mysterious lumps before that were bigger and painful but both times a mammogram revealed nothing bad. Thirs times a charm right! Was more worried that somethung was wrong with my impkant as the leftie is the one thats causing me all the problems and worry and concern!

Re: Weird little lump!
We've actually known if two cases cases here were having breasts implants has been an actual possible life saver!
The implant had pushed undetected lumps to the skins surface making it then able to be felt and investigated. These two women did have cancerous lumps but we've had others here too who have had cysts found in the same way.
Its always best to get any lumps you find, whether your concerned or not just checked out by your GP though. It only takes a few minutes as you know from having previous lumps checked, but it just helps put your mind at rest then doesn't it. Xx
