Re: Acrylic nails and BA??
It depends hun. Most clinic will want you to remove them hun so they have access to see your nail beds, but some clinics are more lenient and do allow you to keep them on.
Its best to check with your own clinic hun. Xx

Re: Acrylic nails and BA??
My clinic wanted all nail polish removed so I would assume this would have included acrylics Hun. But contact your clinic as cookie said :) xx

Re: Acrylic nails and BA??
Yup. It's because it can interfere with the monitoring for your oxygen levels and heart rate during theatre and things. They use a probe on your finger etc. I'm a nurse nd I presume it's the same reason as for any op :) x

Yeah that's what my surgeon told me louann x it's the same with nail varnish and moisturisers, they too can affect the readings.

Re: Acrylic nails and BA??
There are definitely some hospitals that allow you to leave acrylics on and use your toes as an indicator. X
Re: Acrylic nails and BA??
I asked about this before my BA and they said that I could just get the index finger acrylic removed on each hand - they need to see the nail beds - but I removed them all as I didn't want to go round with 1 missing on each hand lol! It was a nice treat after the op to go and get them re-done anyway.. xx
