8 weeks post op?? Empty 8 weeks post op??

Post by Gem76 9th December 2012, 4:37 pm

Hi, I'm having my op on the 8th Jan, my boyfriend is in the army and he's away until March, which will give me approx 8 weeks recovery time til he gets back.

Will this be a decent amount of time for them to be settled down and looking good? 8 weeks post op?? 899188

He's also asking for pics after I have them done, even with the dressings on (sicko!) but they might look awful and he might not come home, haha!

So anyway, will I be 'good to go' if you will, within eight weeks? I know it can take sometimes up to 12 months to settle down to how they're going to be but if anyone could let me know how long theirs took to - without sounding crude - healed enough for handling, I'd be very grateful! Thank you!

x

Are you having overs and unders and what do you mean by "good to go" ? 8 weeks is still quite early in your recovery. It can take months for them to settle down and look good/give you your final result.

Hello Gem x I am 9 weeks and they are softening etc. I get your " good to go" comment. I was told to wait 2 weeks for love making. My surgeon said gentle handling from 4 weeks, go with what is comfy for you. By 8 weeks although you won't have the finished product , you may be in normal bras( some surgeons say longer , but usually from 6 weeks). I feel fine , feel like my own and apart from the odd twinge etc, no probs x good luck babe xxx my Avi was taken at 6 weeks, so they will look ok x just go steady!

Thanks to both of you for your replies x

Thanks Jakki, glad you got what I meant. Thanks for the info, your avi looks fab! I'm having overs so the recovery time should hopefully be a bit quicker, as long as everything goes to plan. Thankyou so much, and yes, I will! x
