Stupid Question!
Ok not sure how I've got to my age and don't know this, but suddenly realised... what is the difference between D and DD?
What I mean is you don't have B and BB or C and CC, so is DD just the next size up to D, like C is the next size up from B or is it something different?

DD is 1 inch bigger than a D across the bust apparently, its just the system they use which means theres no CC or BB but there is AA/DD/FF/GG not sure why!
The EN 13402 standard was introduced in 2006, and a range of other cup-size definitions are still in use in Europe, using either centimeters or inches to indicate the under bust girth.
One common cup size system amongst European manufacturers, in order of increasing size, is: AAA-AA-A-B-C-D-DD-E-F-FF-G-GG-H-J, although the use of double letters is not consistent between manufacturers (e.g. some may use EE rather than F, DDD rather than E, etc.). The majority of bra bands run true to size (as in, a size 36 band measures, when stretched, 36 inches). It is expected that the EN 13402 standard will eventually help resolve the current confusion surrounding cup-size codes in Europe

Re: Stupid Question!
Thanks nads! Should have known to look on wiki  other places were giving conflicting answers!
How strange that B and C are the only ones with no BB or CC!

Re: Stupid Question!
 We are all learning here!!! Just like to confuse us!! Just to have, wear and fill a bra without gel and massive padding is great you soon forget the numbers and letters xx
I know it is very sensible to research before, what you require, just be good if bra manufacturers were unified.xx

Re: Stupid Question!
These flipping bra sizes are so confusing! :suspect:
Oh and Rachel, there is no such thing as a silly question... if it's bothering you, or you don't know something, then it's always best to ask... chances are that it's been bothering someone else too and that you're helping them out as well.. Therefore, the silly question is the one you don't ask! I know I've certainly learnt a lot from other peoples questions... so please keep asking.
