Hi girls - had my uplift and BA yesterday and so far so good.

Ive noticed i can do alot more for myself than i thought i would be able to (reach above my head, use my arms to suppport me)

Just how easy should i be taking things?

I dont wanna be a burden to my family but dont wanna do myself any damage.

Take it easy hun, you may feel ok but you have had alot of intenal stitches. You may find no initial pain when you do these things but may pay the price later ie get achey/pain etc so be careful even if it is just to be on the safe side. You shouldn't do anything that gets your pulse rate excelerted for at least 6 weeks as this can cause swelling so no exercise. Definately no lifting again because of stiiches. Uplifts are alot more involved than just a ba alone so take it easy as your body has alot of healing to do. I am 3 months po from an uplift with 390 unders and still sometimes find I get some niggling pains if I lift something to heavy so take care and happy healing xx

I agree with butterfly, try to take it easy. You don't have to be bed bound, but if you are going to do things do them slowly and do not lift anything heavy.

Firstly congratulations on your new additions! Hope you are very happy with them congrats
I have to agree with butterfly hun, you need to be very careful. i felt fine yesterday (10 days post op) so decided to get on with the housework that my OH has been doing (badly) i felt absolutely fine at the time no pains or anything but today i am in agony, much more pain that i have had at all so far. Obviously you dont want to be completely laid up and no one expects you to but you should be very careful lifting anything too heavy and stretching to reach anything. Trust me you'll feel more of a burden if you do any damage and actually do end up laid up so just take it easy and enjoy having other people do things for you :teehee:

Take it easy, I was trying to do too much the first time and tripped over something, put my arm up to catch myself and pulled a muscle in my chest and had to start taking my pain meds again bc i couldnt sleep I was in soo much pain. Just make sure your not supporting too much of your weight on your arms that lead to the chest muscles, and no lifting over 10 lbs as a rule, Im like you,and used to doing everything myself and feel like a pain to my family, but we all made a big decision doing this and spent a lot of time and money, so the best thing to do is take the time to heal, relax while we have an excuse and enjoy the healing process to our new beginning.
