Blisters from Steri Strips
Hi Girls,
Not sure if this has been mentioned before but wanted to let everyone know Steri Strips can cause blisters if you have sensitive skin.
I'm 1 week post op and have steri strips covering my scar, noticed today quite a big blister at the end of the strip (not on the incision). Have googled and found quiet a few people have allergic reactions to them after all kinds of surgery.
For anyone pre op, get a sample from your PS before surgery and try them out.
Didn't think i was allergic to anything or had sensitive skin but I got blisters. xxx

i had them from the tape around the dressings, but not the steri strips. still got the marks to prove it! are yours bad? i would keep a close eye on that as they directly cover your incisions dont they.

Re: Blisters from Steri Strips
Hi Hun its really common & i have read alot of girls on here had blisters from strapping, tape& steri strips and the nurse even warned me about it at my 10 day post-op check as she said she see's it all the time & not to panic if it happens.
Im allergic to plasters & sticky tape but found the steri-strips fine!

Its not too bad but it hurts!
Very tempted to pop it, I'm guessing bad idea tho.
I'm seeing the nurse tommorrow for my post op check so will talk to her about it tommorrow.
Really don't want extra scars.

I got a blister from my dressing, it was just the one, so I didn't put it down to an allergic reaction. It was right at the edge of the dressing, I showed my ps and he said it was fine. It popped and healed up okay, no extra scar hun. xx
