Should i be worried or not ? my scars have gone a bit dark, i have been wearing steri stips since i have had my dressings off on monday which were given to me by the nurse, scars have been fine up til now. I have just showered and changed my strips and i have noticed my scars look a bit black, nothing on the old strips i have just taken off, so they are not bleeding or oozing, so what is it old blood ? scabs ?

Sorry hun, not sure what it could be. If you're worried you could call clinic. No soreness or anything else?

Hi hun you are only 10days post op so I would imagine it is just a bit of scabbing? Or it may be bruising. My boobs were black and blue all over for weeks. I'm sure it is nothing to be concerned about but ask your clinic if you are worried. x

Hi Susib,
I had this, I think.
When I saw my scars for the first time at the clinic after 1 week, they looked really good. A week later when I removed the new strips my scars were quite black looking. I think it's because they're getting air on them for the first time, and part of healing process. The blackness went after about a week.
I hope this reassures you. x Hug

Hi Hattie 260,

i've just seen your post. I'm planing to have my BA in April. As i can see you went for the Allergan Inspira Soft Touch 295cc. that's what i'm planing to have too.
From you pic i can see that it looks very natural and that's exactly what i want.
Went to two surgeons so far and one suggested 340 cc which is way too big and the other one said that i could easily get away with 310 and still look natural. I preferred the 295 though. I'm a 34A now and was just wondering with what size you started. The surgeons both suggested overs as i have enough tissue and they said it would give me the best result.

Are you still happy with your size?

the black could easily be the skin because of steri strips, your skin has not had pure air in a while, so the pinkness to your skin may have faded. Kinda of like when you were little, had a bandaid on for a few days took it off your finger and it looked kind of pale compared to the rest of you.... i wouldnt worry, but check with your PS, someone who is educated in these types of things to make sure 100% and then you dont have to worry.

I had my steri strips taken off on weds and noticed while the incision is very pale, the skin just surround is a rectangle of very dark brown. I was wondering if they fade successfully. I was also wondering what they really were.
