Mrsa Swabs Empty Mrsa Swabs

Got my letter in the post the other day with a few forms that I had to post back, on the letter it mentioned mrsa swabs but didnt give me much info about them will i get them done on the day or before? What are they and do they hurt? never had them before so not really sure what they are Xxx Mrsa Swabs 751387

they just take swabs from your mouth,ears ect no dont hurt one bit xxx

Hi littlewisher, i did my own as surgicare ask that you have them done 2 weeks before your op to test for mrsa, easy to do its just a swab around each nostril and a separate swab around bikini line, seal them and post them off, nothing to it. You can go to your clinic and they will do it for you if you want.

I had my swabs taken at my pre op appointment 7 days before my op date. The nurse just takes a swab from the nose, ears and maybe armpit (so I've heard!).

It doesn't hurt at all lovely, just tickles alittle!

Hiya Huni,

I had MRSA swabs last week at my Pre Op check up, It’s basically 4 swabs that look like long ear cleaners. The nurse wet mine and whipped one around my nose, one around the back of my throat, one on my armpit, and one on my groin lol. It tickled loads lol!

Just read the letter again and all it says is a wee test is needed on the day... is that to do with MRSA? im so confused! Xx

no that isnt mrsa takes swabs so i wouldnt worry wee test make sure you have no water infectionxxx

I had MRSA swab. blood test and urine test. All just to check you are fit and healthy for the op xx
