bottoming out confirmed at 3 month check :(
some of you may remember i posted a while back about my right boob suddenly dropping much lower and i thought it had bottomed out. well its still sitting about an inch lower than the other one but i actually like the look of the breast itself better as my nipple seems to be perfectly central. anyway i digress...
i had my three month check today where Mr Payne said that he was unhappy with how low it was sitting and how loose the scar is. it also feels like the implant tips forward at the bottom edge when i lean. hes confirmed that the pocket isn't holding up and said that he wants me to wear a sports bra for the next three months with the right side pulled extra tight to see if we can encourage the bottom of the pocket to close, and that i'm to touch it as little as possible. He said if this doesn't work i will be needing a re op.
firstly is this something that's a common occurrence? and has anyone ever successfully fixed it externally? he didn't seem too enthusiastic about it.
And thirdly is there a sports bra that will give me some decent shape rather than being strapped down in my macom?
:(

Oh hun, really sorry to hear this. How frustrating for you
:( And at 3 months all you want to do is ditch the stupid sports bra and be free!
At least your surgeon is completely on top of it. If he's suggesting you wear a sports bra extra tight he really should give you an idea of which. A regular sports bra to a MACOM is obviously quite different. Could you call and get some clarification? If they dont help, your best bet is probably going to a bravissimo (or even a proper running store) and asked to be fitted into their tightest, best sporta bra that wont cause any movement.
I know what you mean about the Macom and it's shape, I couldnt stand mine and felt much more comfortable in this http://www.johnlewis.com/shock-absorber-classic-sports-bra/p36704 but not sure whether it'll give you that tightness they've mentioned.
You sound like you are very worried (and you have every right to be) but he hasn't entirely answered all your questions. Sometimes it takes a few hours to get our head round things, so you're bound to have more questions for him. Give him a call, or even try and get another appointment to talk in more detail about whats happened, what needs to be done and what his thoughts are.
Really sorry you've had such bad luck chick, fingers crossed you'll get it sorted with this bra xxxx

Hi hun, I really have no words of wisdom here, nor can I reccomended a bra but just wanted to say how gutted I am for you. Hopefully you can sort it, but if not, at least he is on your side.
A big worry of mine is bottom out as I have had my crease lowered so I think it's more common in crease lowerings...
anyways....
But,it's good he is on board and that he's willing to fix it if need be.
Is it painful at all?
Fingers crossed for you.
Let us know how your getting on.

Re: bottoming out confirmed at 3 month check :(
Im sorry hun. Personally, I dont think its going to 'heal' itself, but they wouldnt re-op until 6months anyway, so its likely to stabilize it in this time. I would get yourself in a nice low cut high impact sports bra. Something in the triumph range, or the M&S back fastening. And try and keep activity to a minimum. Dont go running any marathons.
Keep us updated on the progress.

Re: bottoming out confirmed at 3 month check :(
Sorry Hun but I agree with Charlii, the biggest healing takes place in your first 12 weeks, if the pocket hasn't fused then I doubt it's going to, although wearing a tight sports bra is a good idea to stop any further damage to tissue and muscle. Xx

Re: bottoming out confirmed at 3 month check :(
Sorry ladies my email didn't notify me that anyone had commented. I agree I don't see how it will fix itself, I've also done lots of googling and it seems that over dissection of the pocket is the most common cause. He said any kind of touching it could undo any work the sports bra may do but I don't know how I'm expected to sleep, wash, work two jobs and single parent my three children without it getting disturbed at all. I'm also worried that I'll do 12 weeks in a sports bra and then he will say I need a re op and then I'll be in a sports bra again all through the summer. He wasn't hugely clear on what type of bra he wanted me in, he said something with a band at the bottom to push on the scar and then to tighten that one strap to hold the implant up. I asked if a macom was okay and he said yes, and then said a crop top would work too. So I'm a bit unclear. I tightened a medium impact sports bra at the strap today that I have and it's made me really sore under my arm and along the bottom where the scar is feels really bruised and sore
I'm trying to ignore it as much as possible but I didn't expect this to happen.

Re: bottoming out confirmed at 3 month check :(
I'm so sorry you are going through this - its rubbish! And I agree - its not like you can be precious about the boob when you are working single mother with a busy life! Its just impossible. Maybe, like Charlii says he is biding his time by getting you in a sports bra so he can just re-op in 3 months time. Most surgeons would leave 6 months between ops so that might be what it is. Its very annoying for you as that is why us ladies plan to get our boobs done in winter -so they don't have to be in sports bras all summer. I feel for you as no one predicts problems but frustratingly they are quite common! Hope you can find a decent bra that is comfortable xxx

This one is comfy and keeps things in place. Its a lower cut on the breast and underarm, so shouldnt cut in so much. Or be on show. Its a regular bra strap too, so you can pull one in tight. If you wanted something with a lower impact, try this

but I wouldnt really reccomend going much lower or to a crop. I would even say the macom might be risky, as the band is where you get 80% of the support, and its not exactly great on the macom.

I am not a great one for exercise so don't wear sports bras often, I only have a shock absorber that I wear for at home workouts but have had a little google on the TRIUMPH TRI-ACTION EXTREME (sorry for capitals I copied and pasted). This bra had the highest score in a mail online sports bra review giving it a 10/10. It doesn't look to high up either xx

Ah thank you ladies, it's really appreciated. I hope the sports bra can do some fixing but I can't help but feel im flogging a dead horse. I'm going to give it a month and if I'm still in pain with it I'll book to see him again and see if anything can be done sooner.
