Fat transfer
Each year, millions of women choose to undergo breast augmentation surgery to enhance their appearance, and confidence. While most women believe that breast implants are the only way to increase their cup size, Texas-based cosmetic plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden explains that women now have other options for breast augmentation. One alternative to breast implant surgery is a less-invasive technique called "fat grafting," or "fat transfer," which is quickly becoming a popular alternative to breast implants.
Dr. Walden is a nationally-renowned plastic surgeon with extensive experience in breast augmentation surgery. Dr. Walden first learned this implant-free practice from Dr. Roger Khouri of Miami, who is responsible for developing the technique. Utilizing her experience with the procedure, Dr. Walden now takes a moment to share information on breast augmentation using fat transfer.
A relatively new method, fat transfer is a process which involves removing unwanted fat tissue from other areas of the body, to augment the size of breasts. Most commonly, the fat tissue is removed from areas such as the thighs, belly, or buttocks, through liposuction. Usually, a substantial amount of fat is removed, though the amount removed will depend on the individual patient. That fatty issue is then processed into a liquid in a lab setting, and during surgery, Dr. Walden injects the fat into the breast area. The fat then grows, naturally increasing the volume of breasts.
Dr. Walden explains that there are many benefits to the fat grafting procedure. "Probably the biggest advantage is that this technique uses a patient's own tissue to add volume to the breasts," she says. By using this fat, a patient's breasts are increased one to two cup sizes naturally, with no implants required.
The fat grafting process, which involves liposuction and fat injections, are not major procedures, according to Dr. Walden, and are performed on an outpatient basis using a local anesthetic. Usually, patients will only need a few days to recovery from the procedure. "I have seen great success with fat transfer in breast augmentations," Dr. Walden says, "This method works well with patients of all different shapes and sizes. Best of all, my patients have reported that their breasts feel soft, and very natural, after undergoing this procedure."

I seem to be reading more and more about the fat transfer process and the results. Years ago there were real problems with the fat breaking down but this seems to have been fixed now by using new methods of transfer - those who who know me will know anyway this is something I'm very interested in for myself, but I've never seen any results for myself - Sjelly has recently undergone fat transfer so I will definitely be following her progress for sure Xx
