Multi-Quote - FAQ Empty Multi-Quote - FAQ

Some of you may have noticed the new multiquote function.

How it Works

Say you want to quote two messages in your reply. Select the messages you want to include in your reply. In the picture below it's the first and third message.

Click the multi-quote button for each message you want to include.

When you click each multi-quote it will change colour slightly, like so:

Note: Because our forum is already pinky, the multiquote button may be really hard to see if it's highlighted. I'll see if it can be changed.

Each highlighted quote button means that whole message will be quoted in your reply.

To deselect a message, just click on the highlighted multi-quote button again. It will then return to its original colour and won't be included in your reply.

Then, click Reply. You can't use the quick reply box at the bottom of the topic for multi-quotes.

Also, you can multi-quote posts on different pages. So
you can multi-quote posts from the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th page for example.

Multi-Quote - FAQ Empty Re: Multi-Quote - FAQ

Multi-Quote - FAQ 17032009104748

This is how the result will look.

The two
Code:
[quote]
tags tell the system that this is a quote, it puts it in a quote box. The name in the "speechmarks" tells the system who is being quoted.

You can delete irrelevant points from the quoted posts. To do that highlight the text you don't need and delete it. Do not modify anything inside the
Code:
[quote]
tags unless you know what you're doing.

Say for example I've quoted Miss A's message.

It's this:

Code:
[quote="Miss A"]Hey girls, i'm having my surgery in three days, was anyone else nervous before?[/quote]

But all I want is the 'was anyone nervous' section.

I would delete the 'Hey girls, i'm having my surgery in three days' from the message, leaving the quote tags untouched. The message would then look like this:

Code:
[quote="Miss A"]was anyone nervous[/quote]

and when posted will look like this:

Miss A wrote:was anyone nervous
