Breast Cancer and BA
Hi :)
I was wondering if you could give me some advice please.
My mum had BC at 44, it was quite an aggressive form and she had chemo and readio therapy before being given the all clear.
She found this from a routine examination of cysts that she commonly had since she was about 27 after 2 kids.
No other women in my family have had the big C but my family includes only my maternal and paternal grandmothers. I have no cousins on my mums side as she is an only child but and my dad only has one brother who's daughter is a few years younger than me but up to this point has had no problems as far as i know.
As i have so little female family members my GP has referred me to the Breast Cancer History Clinic to see where we go as i am frightened to death of passing anything to my daughter and realy dont want my kids to go through what i did with my mum.
I rang the clinic today to be told that it could be 3 months (possibly middle of july) before i even get an app.
I am planning to have a BA unders in the first week of sept and realy wanted this whole thing closed off before i went for the op.
I surpose my questions are:
If i book my BA do i void my possible health plan with the National Health, im hoping they will set up a care plan so i can have a mamogram every year as prevention.
Does it matter that i have an BA booked when i go for my initail consultation?
My PS will contact my GP to let her know that im having a BA will this mess with everything else that is going on?
So sorry it was a long one, i would realy appreciate some advice
Many thanks
kxx
