Mammograms
Hello,
First, thank you for your time to our forum. My question, is it imperative I have a mammogram this year? I am 42 years old and have had two mammograms already. I just had my last silicone breast implant surgery in August 2011. My last mammogram was Jan. 2011. I am very nervous to get a mammogram. I have read that it can cause ruptures sometimes. I have also read that it can break the capsule and if the implant does happen to rupture, it would not stay contained within the capsule and will migrate throughout the body. I am scheduled for a mammogram in two days and am tempted to cancel.
Thank you.

OMG this is scary. How did it go FinallyBB?
Isn't there a special mammogram for women with breast implants, or it doesn't exist?

Re: Mammograms
It was so smooth...no reason to be worried at all. It is done differently with implants. Before I had implants, they squished me so hard....with implants they are very gentle. I won't skip a mammogram ever. I am so glad I had it done...definitely worth the peace of mind. Always ALWAYS have your mammograms Ladies
